SOURCE: Panasonic HDMI surround system problem

The HDMI cable connection on your system is a video out to your TV.
To get audio from the TV so you can hear it through the system, you need to add a cable from the audio out of your TV to the "aux" input on the panasonic system.
This is most likely a red and white connection which will give you stereo, or pro-logic surround from the home theater system.

Yes you should be able to do that. Make sure u switch between hdmi 1 and 2 on your tv. If you are still having problems try and get the tv company to fix the problem if they won't you could get a hdmi splitter on amazon for like 20 dollars.

SOURCE: No surround sound when watching TV

hdmi can only pass pcm 2.0 digital for the separate cables you may try to switch them to another output from the monitor to the receiver or if you can get your hands on a spd-if cable (one single fiberoptic cable that will go as high as 5.1 dolby surround)

Hi,

Based on your query "...which jack...put the green cable ...", I would suggest that you replace that green cable with a 3.5mm Stereo Phone Male to Twin RCA Male as shown below.
19ba6b8.jpg. The stereo phone would match the green INput ((Front) of the Logitech X-540 while the twin RCA (white & red) would match the RCA AUDIO OUTput of the LG 37LC2D.

Of course hooking it up this way would not fully utilize the 5.1 features of the X-540 (Rear and Sub/Center) but the TV sound will come out of the front speakers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I have audio cables going from HD 61g887 jvc tv, to my phillips surround sound system under aux but it is not giving me sound?

hi
you didn't mentioned the model number of your surround sound system, for a better solution its important. any why try the following.

if you are connected the analog audio output of your tv to the system using RCA cable, then go to the setup of the surround sound system and change the input assignment setting from digital to analog.
If your connected the digital output of your tv to the digital input of your surround system using optical cable then, goto the setup of your surround system and change the input assignment to digital (optical) input.

if u need any further assistance fell free to contact through fixya

Cant get sound surround out of tv

Have you tried looking at the sound set up menu on the TV? Some sets will only output sound via certain sockets which have to be switched on. Others will only output sound via internal speakers till they are switched off etc.

Is there a way to hook up a HDMI connector to my WS-48413

Yes, there are several ways to hook up your HDMI to your TV but first, we need to understand that HDMI carries both audio and video signals though a single cable in digital form.

I am assuming you want to connect a device such as a digital cable box, Blu Ray or HD DVD player with an HDMI output to your TV. Since your TV has both digital (DVI) and analog (S-Video, component, etc) inputs, my suggestion would be to get and HDMI to DVI adapter (about $20 at buy.com) for your video and for your audio, use any RCA audio cable (I use the one from the Dollar Store). This would give you the best video resolution from your source device.

My next suggested solution would be to get an HDMI to component video + audio cable (< $10 at eBay for a 6' length) for a single-cable fix. Again component video carries analog signals so the DVI could be a better viewing experience but because the cost of the cables are minimal, I would try both solutions to see which fix would give you the better picture.

Note that since the audio is being run though RCA connectors in both instances, the digital Dolby, 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound tracks in high definition sources will not be reproduced if you connect your TV's audio-out to your audio receiver. To get the best audio, I would connect the HDMI device's digital out (optical, coaxial, etc) directly to the receiver.

Hope that helps. Have fun!

This TV ONLY transfer audio OUT to a ANALOG SYSTEM THRU AND ANALOG SIGNAL. That is, TV will play sound fine in your surround system but any digital (HDMI) wont sound.

No sound

I suppose you have a surround sound system that is now not functioning? They must have disconnected your audio out cables from your television to your surround sound system. Make sure your main audio out channel on your television is connected to AV1 in on your surround sound system. It is probably an RCA cable (red and white). Then when you play your TV, make sure the audio is set on AV1 for your surround sound system by pressing the function button until AV1 is on the display. Let me know if this helps.
