I was told by my "Mac mentor," who lives in the Silicone Valley, that you must "bless" a Mac. That means, when you install new devices, you must reboot. After spending almost an hour with a tech representative who couldn't help me, I then rebooted my Mac, and everything works fine, now.

Hopes this helps.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

There could be several problems going on here. Try this first If still unsuccessful you may need to run chkdsk in windows (XP or 7). This will unlock the protection bit on the ntfs file system and the disk should be fine. If there is a problem chkdsk will tell you. Also always remember to eject or safely remove external hard drive.

This sounds as though the Iomega has got locked somehow.
Do a get info on its desktop icon and have a look at the lock checkbox. Also look at the write permissions while you are there.
