Humming sound shows that DK-A10H has problem with Bass Amp section and when out amp IC got heated, it stops working.
It could be power supply issue or amp IC itself is defective.

THAT MEANS THAT ONE OF THE ic IN THE AMP CIRCUITS IS OVERHEATING AND FAILING AFTER 5 MINUTES.

    Sorry about the capitals.

I was explaining that if you lose only the sound in the sub, that means that some component is failing.

If this happens always atfter the same time, five minutes or so, that is because some component (typically an IC) is overheating and failing.

The problem is probably concerning the amp final session, and the board must be repaired or replaced.

That will also explain the humming noise, that you typically hear when the amp is failing.

If the craddle is new get a replacement.

If it is less than one year old, call the the phone number listed on the owners manual. You should be entitled to a repair or replacement from Sharp.

Let me know if you need additional help.

To fix it we test the board inside, if we find a faulty component, at sight , or using the multimeter. If the unit is worth we get the service manual, and service bulletin and spec sheet to test the AMP and preamp ICs, that is more complicate.

If you know how to use a multimeter you can start (at your risk) inspecting the board for chipped or bulged components.

If you do not see anything weird you start testing components from the amp final area of the board, where signal is sent out to speakers.

    Testing ICs is more complicate

Kenwood KA-7010 - how to connect to laptop, ipod?

Any iPod, smartphone or MP3 player at its most basic level is just an ordinary analog audio source.

For just listening, any audio device with a headphone/earbud output can be connected to any available analog Line Level input (except PHONO) with a simple adapter. They don't tell you that in the iPod manual because they want you to purchase expensive accessories like docking stations. You'll still have to control the music from the portable device. Oh well.

1. Fit the DC power and switch on the appliance by pressing the standby button 2. To set time, press CLOCk button to alternate between 12 and 24 hour format. 3. Press and hold CLOCK button until the set hour flashes on display 4. Adjust time using SKIP/SEARCH 5. Press CLOCK to set the time, same procedure for minute
To set alarm
1. Press AL SET 1/OFF 1 button, then press and hold the same button until the alarm time starts flashing 2. Press SKIP/SEARCH to to set time as above

Speaker cuts out when ipod is hooked up to audio in port

try isolating the problem by inserting other sources such as tape deck, portable cd players, game consoles, if they work fine, test you ipod cable. next test you ipod on other audio in ports such as karaoke or other component stereos, ask a friend if he or she has one. test both, you may now have the idea where the trouble is.

Will NAD 712 accept an iPod Docking Station?

A 712 is not set up to use an Ipod USB dock.  You can buy a dock that will use RCA jacks into an old stereo - Apple sells them, others too.  Then the Ipod sits up and you can look at it.  Or you can buy the 1/8" stereo plug to two RCA plugs that Radio Shack has been selling for 30-40 years, plug one end into your Ipod headphone jack, and run the two RCA plugs into your Aux input.  That costs about $5, and is easy as pie.  An Ipod will play through any old receiver, but the USB docks will not plug into them.

Denon receiver (DRA 397) will not speak to iPod dock

IF YOUR NOT USING A DENON IPOD DOCKING STATION IT WILL NOT FUNCTION CORRECTLY.
YOU CAN CONNCET OTHER TYPES OF IPOD DOCKING STATIONS BUT YOU WILL NOT HAVE CONTROL THROUGH THE DENON AND ONLY CONNECT THE AUDIO FOR THAT DOCKING STATION TO THE DENON AS ANOTHER SOURCE INPUT
