Sounds like the laser is shot or the door is not making a good connection when its closed. So the system has no clue there is anything inserted. This could be from a bad latch, fried laser, or something on the motherboard itself. Does the spindle motor inside try to spin the disc?
go to the umd icon (shaped like the game disc)and select it ........although it may need an update and usualy has the patch on the disc to do so (lacated below the umd icon representing the game)and select it and voila you play your game
Could not read the disc. For details read the console
There may be dirt or scratches on the disc or internal lens. First remove the disc and gently wipe from the
center to the outside with a soft cloth...better u download psp repair guide click here to download psprepair guide
You might have PSP stop reading UMD discs,
First you will do some trouble shooting with what might be wrong with your PSP
first is the Disc Spinning motor. This will not let The disc in the
UMD spin. On a working PSP you will hear the disc start to spin up, then you can hear the
laser start to twitch, followed by the laser motor moving the laser down the
something stuck in the UMD gear, try to clean the gear of arm of dust, plastic, soda, and even hair.
and at the last is the actual laser itself. It will not focus the laser to read
the UMD disc.
Hopefully this help, Pls post back should you need additional information...!
Have you inserted the game disc UMD into the PSP itself? You have to wait a few seconds after you turn it on before the game icon will be visible in the main menu screen before you can access the game. When it's active and you have the game icon selected press the "X" button to start the game.
Try a different disk? I've found that sometimes when you turn on the psp and you're in the game menu of the PSP menu, the UMD won't be there, but if you go over to music or something, and go back to game, it will have returned.
