Thank you anyway for trying to help me with my Kodak C813. I do however have another question. How long does it stay charged from the docking port & how many pics does the mem card hold??

I am going interstate for 2 weeks in Jan and wonder if I need to take the docking port also!

Why will my C813 suddenly no longer load pics to my computer?

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo management program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

If you insist on connecting your camera to your computer, what program(s) are you using for the download? What operating system do you have on your computer? If you're getting an error message, what does it say?

When i plug my digital camara into my computer, my computer do not recognize it

At first try to connect through USB

  • Just connect your camera data cable into the USB port of the Computer
  • On your camera
  • Then Right Click on My Computer select Manage then Go to the Device Manager and Click on Update Hardware Option
  • After updated you see a Icon as yellow Question Marks with The name of your camera.
  • Just Right Click on it and select Update Driver
  • Do as per the given Direction.

After successfully install your driver you just restart your computer. Your camera is now installed with your PC

I was using my Koday M893 one day, and i sat it down for a second, when i picked it back up the screen was blank, and the lens is still out. The camera will not turn back on, and i feel like i have tried...

What exactly did you try?
Check these:
  • Fully charged batteries
  • Taking batteries our from the camera and reinserting
  • Other set of batteries
If you did try all of the above without success, the only thing you could do is take the camera to a local electronist, or Kodak dealer for repairs.

Kodak C813 Camera will not turn on.

this is a firmware problem that has been happening to many digital cameras, especially koday easyshare. Either the zoom/lens is stuck or the firmware needs updating. Kodak offers to fix the problem for $50

Computer does not reognize Camera

Another way of downloading images is to remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB card reader, then plug the card reader into the USB port on the computer. The computer will see this as an external memory device, you can then open the folder/s and copy the images to the computer.

camera should have had a usb cable in package-simply plug cable into camera and usb port and computer should recognize and offer to start transfer-if not use a memory card reader to download pics also works great and doesn't waste batterys on camera while you download
