Have you replaced the power supply?

If you changed the power supply, then more than likely either the mother board, cpu, or memory is fried. You can pick up a power supply tester at any tech store for about $10.

Why red light blinking on dell poweredge 840

Hello,

Check your power supply or the power supply source (outlet or UPS unit) as well as the power cord. Your system power source is not at the correct amp, voltage and may need replacing.

Good Luck.

Dell Poweredge 1800 server not start, i press power button but nothing hapened

Your Model of Dell Poweredge 1800 server may not have a redundant power supply. The power supply is the most like cause of the problem. order a replacement power supply and replace the faulty unit.

No power on my PowerEdge 1800 Server

dells power supplies must come from dell. I would call dell and give then the service tag number of your server and they will be able to tell you about how much a power supply is.

Where to plug power button into mother board

Open the case of the server, and look on the side panel that you removed. It should have all of the server options detailed right on the inside of the case for you.

1600sc second CPU

Hi

Yes, some systems (newer PowerEdge Servers, generally 6/7th Generation and above) have onboard VRMs.

1600sc is a 6th gen PowerEdge (with Simple Computing). I can checked and be absolute certain from within Dell. I'm on VAC until Saturday.

In the meantime, check the PRC model and revision and ensure that they match. Given that a single PRC POST/Boots, try upgrading (if not already) the system BIOS to latest revision.

If the PRC model/revision does match and you have the latest BIOS version, also if the VRMs are not needed, then from the Troubleshooting you have already done, we may conclude that the PRC 2 slot is faulty.

I will confirm the VRM query on Saturday.
