Do test. Try different paper. If the new paper goes in correct, the type of paper you are using will not work on that printer. A printer at my work has a similar problem, and is also a HP. The papers reflective properties messes with the alignment lasers and it miss feeds.

Sounds like it needs cleaning:

You will need : 1 can of "compressed air", 1 container of ether rubbing alcohol or some form of Goo-Gone.

1. In short blasts (NOT LONG ONES) blow through the paper path. Open any paper jam access trays before doing this so the bits escape.

2. Using a SMALL amount of Goo-Gone and either a Q-Tip or small dust free cloth, clean all the rubber rollers on the bars. Cheap paper leaves a fine dust and after time will make the wheels very slick.

Doing this every other month can save you from jams and is just a good maintenance plan for your printer.

Also don't use 'cheap paper'.

Good luck! :)

I have owned numerous black & white HP laser printers and numerous Konica color laser printers. I purchased 2 HP Color Laserjet CP3525N printers new from HP 1.5 years ago. Now they both squeak loadly...

The squeaky wheel gets the grease! Yes it's a mechanical problem. The paper feed rollers and gears are loaded with paper dust and need to be cleaned or replaced.

My printer feeds the paper crooked and causes a jam

Cleaning the internal rollers may fix it, if not a new one is required.

My HP printer is not feeding paper.

Here is the solution for your problem just go through the steps given below and you can fix it yourself.

1. Check to make sure your printer has paper in its paper tray. If your printer has paper, check to make sure that the tray is not overloaded. If you suspect your paper tray is overloaded, remove some paper from the tray and attempt to print again.

2. Use the same type of paper when stocking the tray with paper; do not mix different types of paper into a single stack. Mixing different brands and weights of paper in a single stack makes your printer more prone to paper feed problems. If you find that one particular type of paper causes consistent feed problems, switching to a different type or weight of paper may solve the problem.

3. Check to make sure the paper in the tray is whole. Torn and creased paper will cause problems with the printer.

4. Open your printer's rear access cover and inspect the paper feed rollers. Dusty or dirty rollers cannot grip the paper; clean them with a soft, damp cloth and water.

5. Count your printer's rollers. HP printers have six paper feed rollers; if your printer is missing rollers the paper will not feed correctly. Contact HP to replace the rollers and repair your printer.

Thanks.

Problem with my hp photosmart C6280 printer...when paper is in...says out of paper...looks like something is wrong where paper feeds...

Try to reset the your printer by turning it off and unplug the power cord from he power outlet then unhook the printer cable and let the unit sit for 5 minutes and replug everything back in. If this would not work try to un-install then re-install the printer's software. If this would not work still call the printer's manufacturer for the unit to be warranted.

For some reason when I print from the HP Pavillion dv2000, my printer feeds a blank page through for each page I am printing.

Appears to be a relatively common problem for different reasons--sometimes system, sometimes printer. Things to check--page length settings, try reducing the printout size, margins. What's the printer and what size paper? Thanks

Please give me the name of a printer that WORKS with writing checks in Quicken using Windows Vista 64. My HP all in one does not - printer jams every time.

HP will work. The jam is a paper problem not a hardware or software issue. Try line feeds without printing. HP also makes the best printer paper so don't skimp on that. Moisture in the paper is the most common paper jam problem aside from debris getting into the rollers. If line feed fails then physically inspect the whole paper path. I have Canon, Epson, Dell, HP and Lexmark printers with Quickbooks Pro. They all work. Paper is your problem barring a banana falling into the rollers. Never leave paper in a printer for a long time as it will stick to itself. Steve

3210 paper wil not feed in the printer it not jam it just will not feed

  • Turn off the printer and remove all paper from the paper tray & disconnect it from the computer.
  • With the printer off, check for any obstructions such as torn paper or foreign objects.
If there is no torn paper or any obstruction then follow this
  • Place 20 sheets of paper in the printer ensuring none of the paper is torn .
  • Make sure that the paper is flush with the far right edge of paper tray, move the left edge paper guide over so that it touches the left side of the paper.
  • Try to feed paper manually .

If your problem is not solved yet then follow this
  • Uninstall the printer driver and restart the computer.
  • Re-install the printer driver

Will it mess up my printer if i pulled the paper out

No. But, do this while the power is off. And get a firm grip on the center of the paper and pull with increasing constant pressure until the paper come out. You don't want to risk tearing the paper. Should that happen, open the cover and see if you can't pull it out backwards. In fact, if there is more paper stickng out the top than the front, pull it out from that direction.

After you get the paper out, remove the paper from the feed tray. Turn the printer on and let it go through its startup diagnostic (that's what all the commotion and noise is about when you turn it on.) Once complete, add some paper to the tray and from either the LCD Panel menu options, run the print head alignment test and set the values according to what lines line up exactly and punch those numbers in. The print head alignment test may also be available to you from the printer's program menu tools or from the Start Menu, Printers and when your printer shows up in the box, right click your printer, choose Properties and there may be a set of tools from there that will run the print head alignment test.

That's the long and short of it, Yes, pull it out from above, from the feed tray or from the front, whichever has the most paper exposed. Then run the print head alignment test to reset the alignment.

Worldvet
