The oven lights blink 5 times, then the heating lights blink 5 times, they go back and forth and never stop. The ovens will not work but the stovetop burners and griddle work fine.
Thank you, Charles Brotherson
For no reason the cleaning light went on, even though the oven was not on. The oven light and heating light were alternating each blinking 5 times. The door locked up, too. It seemed to think it was in a cleaning cycle. Any way, problem solved by throwing off the main breaker and all is working fine since... except now, for no reason the oven fan, not the exhaust fan, stays on all the time!

I understand that you are having trouble with your oven, model# FGES3045KF, not working/heating, even though the display screen is showing everything to be working fine. I suggest to give your appliance a hard reset. You will do this by switching the circuit breaker off for 3-5 minutes. Once the 3-5 minutes has passed, switch the circuit breaker back on. The first thing you will need to do, is to set the time. You will do this by entering in the time and pressing start. Turn the oven on. If you are still having trouble with the oven not working/heating, I suggest you contact your local authorized technician to come and diagnose the oven, to see why it will not work correctly.
check the connections on the back side of the oven if you had a power surge the contact will burn off the wire
if this is the case, be sure and get new crimp contacts with the proper heat range rating,

it may hav over heated and caused the one time safty on back of oven to trip . replace safty and it should work . ps some times if it has a cooling fan the fan may have quit causing this problem . when the saftey failes look for the cause .. it will do it again . and the safty is about 30 .00 .. mm
This happened to my DCS when the Hot Wire Relay went out. It isn't an expensive part, but finding someone that knows what needs to be replaced, and then can replace it is hard. My oven also did the opposite and continued to heat without shutting off, and it was once again the hot wire relay.
You were right. The locking mechanism switch somehow became jammed and the oven thought the door was locked, even though I could open the door. I didn't know if I was supposed to take the top off and moving the lever back and forth did not help. Finally I turned the oven on and just kind of jiggled the latch in the unlocked position. I kind of moved it back and forth furiously and the cleaning light stopped blinking and the oven light came on. I'm glad it is working now, but I will be manually cleaning my oven from now on! Thanks for your help.
