Go to Start - Run,. then type in the box CMD.

At the command prompt type ipconfig /all

Write down your settings. Type EXIT to close the prompt window.

IF you're on DHCP, there is no need for this, as you will be allocated an automatic IP when your network card is initialized.

How to change the server aol to my google chrome on start up

Dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) is a way to configure IP addresses and TCP/IP settings throughout your network.

The DHCP service is run on a machine with a static IP address so that the computers on the network can find it for automated configurations.

Setting the IP address on a Windows 2003 server is accomplished through the network configuration settings in Control Panel.

Click the Windows "Start" button and select "Control Panel." Double-click "Network Connections." In this section, double-click "LAN Connection."

This opens the configuration tool to set the IP address of the server.

Select "TCP/IP" from the list of configured network applications and click the "Properties" button. This opens a new configuration window.

Select "Use the following IP address" to set a static IP for the server.
Enter the IP address chosen for the server in the first textbox that is activated.

Enter the subnet mask and default gateway for the server.
The default gateway is usually the router on the local network or the DSL or cable modem on a small, home network.

Enter the DNS server address.
The DNS servers are separate servers on the network.

For small, home networks, the DNS server is provided by your service provider.

Click the "Ok" button to save the settings. Click "Ok" again at the general LAN properties window.

Renew settings on local computers. Computers that use the DHCP server for configuration need to be rebooted.

You can also use the DOS command prompt to renew settings.
The "ipconfig -renew" command refreshes the settings on client computers on the network.

or for home page browser

Bought a printer server called Networking USB LPR Print server. It`s softwear does not support OKI but the install wizzard asks for installation disk from OKI. When I start the OKI driver installation...

  1. log into router
  2. look at the leases issued by the dhcp server in the router
  3. note the ip address assigned to the printer
  4. change the lease to be permanently leased to the printer server
  5. the print server will have a device name . you should be able to figure out which ip address is assigned / leased to it .
  6. You never assign a print server , or server or printer with a temporary dhcp ip address ! hence why you should change the lease of it to permanent .
  7. Then it will be assigned the same ip address by the dhcp server .

Need ip address for syrens, not sure if i remember right: 192.168.1.1???

Hi Stephan,
the ip address of your router by default should be "192.168.1.1". to check if the ip adress of your router here's the solution :
  1. go to control panel > network and sharing/networking >change adapter settings
  2. then you'll see your local area connection
  3. right click on it>properties
  4. double click on (internet protocol tcp/ip) "tcp/ipv4 in windows vista/7
  5. the select "obtain ip address automatically" & "obtain dns server464142c.jpg automatically" click ok and click ok for the other window
  6. double click on your local area connection > detailsb0bf711.png
  7. the dns server ip show should be your router ip adress
  8. open your web explorer and type in your router ip an press "enter" you'll get your router configuration where you'll be able to change the default ip.
I hope that it will help & don't forget to rate

Kind regards

You can use the netsh command to configure Ip adresses.

1. IP via DHCP:
netsh set address name="MyLocalAreaConnection" source=dhcp

2. static IP:
netsh set address name="MyLocal AreaConnection" source=static addr=192.168.1.61 mask=255.255.255.0 gateway=192.168.1.1

- no line breaks in the commands
- change names and numbers to your needs
- check on mistyping and spaces between the commands

System error

Your computer and another computer are sharing the same ip address. Unplug your modem for 5 minutes than plug it back in, this should change your ip adress and inturn fix your problem. If this fails than unplug your modem for 8 hours (overnight) and that should definetly change your ip address. If that fails than call your internet service provider and they can walk you through the steps to change it manually. I could explain the procedure but its better if they walk you through it step by step.
Let me know how it goes. Good luck.

You must enter a DNS server on the "Network Settings > TCP / IP" page. If you're unsure of it, try copying your default gateway.

Dns error 80710102

Hey peterk18,

First of all, how is your network configured? Are you behind a router? What's it's IP adress, does it act as a DHCP server?

If so try to set up a new network connection and put everything to automatic.. When the routers acts as a DHCP server it will give the PlayStation 3 an IP adress. DNS however is something else. DNS is a system that allows you to browse by a website or hosts name. For example: it allows you to type www.google.com in your browser instead of it's IP.

DNS is essential for Internet. Your router should be your DNS server and your router itself also needs to know a DNS server, this would be the server from your ISP. All these settings are automatically configured via DHCP.

Greetings,
