Bugaboo adapters for maxi cosi got stuck to the maxicosi carseat

Hi, we connected the bugaboo adapters for maxi cosi mico to the maxi-cosi mico carseat. The relase button on the maxi cosi carseat is also stuck and the adapters will not release.
Can you please advise to release the stuck adapters from the car seat?

I have the same problem and cannot figure out how to get the adaptors out of the car seat. I dont think it should be that hard but I've pulled with all my strength and cannot get them out at all. I hope it's not this hard everytime.

I guess this is a general problem. First time using them and the left side got stuck, the release button is also stuck and there is no way to get it out...I looked inside and the hook is holding it but i guess i put it on wrong..can anyone have a suggestion?

Adapters were stuck! And I mean Stuck! I did the same thing, I pulled them off, but I turned the car seat upside down and put a pillow on top and sat on it when I pulled and they FINALLY came off! Hooray!

We have just released the Bugaboo adapters by pressing buttons on the Maxi Cosi seat and gently pulling the adapters at the same time. These buttons can be found either side on the top of the seat, next to where the seat carry handles are attached. The adapters come away very easily, no force needed. (I dont know if this is true if the adapters are in the wrong way round!)

There's no need to place the seat upside down and pull.

Simply push the grey button on either side of the child seat that face upwards (in the bend of the chair), and then pull off the adaptors.

If you pry the pegs a little bit away from the seat, you should be able to get a 1/8" or so gap which will let you stick a small dinner fork into the space. Using the tines of the fork, reach under the "pawl" (hook) that is engaged on the tab of the adapter, and displace the pawl toward the car seat. There should be enough give to have the pawl clear the tab.

Don't force it. If you do it right, it doesn't take too much force, and should only take a few minutes.

All right, I got them out by turning the car seat on its top and pulling the adapters. I also placed my foot on the bottom of the car seat to counter the pulling... that's one tough mo-fo for sure.
I realized that I put them on wrong (flipped sides) - the correct way is to have the L and R letters on the adapters face outward and make sure they correspond with the sides of baby's arms.
Have fun pulling ;-)

If you put the adapters in wrong, like I did, then I found the following helped. If you rotate the adapter toward the back while you pull it out, it serves to push the hook away from the catch, thus making it much easier to get out.

There is a hook inside the slot of the maxicosi where the adapter is. After trying brute force for 10 min without success, I read this blog, and found the solution to lift the hook the simplest, which can be done without any force. Simply use a flashlight to look on the mechanism in between the car seat and adapter. there is a vertical hook starting from the base of the car seat and reaching the adapter. If you hold the car seat in front of you, looking in the little space between the adapter and car seat the hook will be vertical inside the adapter in the middle of it. Its orientation is sideways. Take a spiky kitchen knife and get the hook off using the sides as levers. You will easily see which piece can move. Once I did one, I did the other in 30 sec. Good luck!

Hi Renata

The Maxi-Cosi FamilyFix base is a European product designed for use with European model carseats.

The Mico is a USA model carseat and is not suitable for use in this base. You should use a Mico base if you are in USA / Use a European carseat if you are in Europe.

Good Morning

The Maxi Cosi CabrioFix can be fitted without any base, using the 3 point seatbelt: With the EasyFix base, using IsoFix points or 3 point seatbelt: With the EasyBase and EasyBase 2 using the 3 point seatbelt. It cannot be used with the Mico carseat base as they are not designed to be used together. The Mico is available in US and does not meet UK standards: Likewise the CabrioFix does not meet US standards so they should never be used together.

If you don't know how to fit the carseat into your vehicle using the 3 point seatbelt please check your user manual, or download a replacement copy at www.maxi-cosi.com before use go to an authorised retailer to check it is correctly installed as this will affect the performance of the carseat.

Hi i have a maxi cosi mico car seat and the adapters for the bugaboo frog are stuck on the car seat. I might have put the adapters on backwards. how can i get them off! thank you

There are two gray buttons on the car seat pretty much above where the car seat attaches to the chassis. (These are different buttons than the ones you push to move the car seat handle forward/backward.) Push on these buttons and pull down on the adapters. Should come off.
I recently bought my maxi cosi adapters, and I had the same problem you're having. I did have them on backward. But, I'll be honest, even when they are put on correctly, it is still a pain in the you know what to put mine in, attach the car seat, and then take the car seat off of the chassis. Starting to regret my frog purchase...
