38528033 is the belt number or just 033.
40201160 is the part number for a 2 pk
sometimes they are referred to style 160 as well

All these are the same belt. Hoover makes things so simple don't they? LOL

I ran the vacuum over throw rugs and the brush roller just stopped. I can't get the roller to work now... it won't even spin and the "brush" feature is in the ON position.

You've got a broken belt. Most Hoover Vacuums have a spare belt attached to the vacuum itself. Replacement is fairly easy and usually won't require tools. To replace your belt:
  1. Unplug the vacuum
  2. Locate clips on bottom of vacuum-Hoover uses clips that can be opened by hand.
  3. Lift up the plate that encloses the rollers
  4. Remove broken belt
  5. Remove roller from it's compartment
  6. Install replacement belt (hooking it around the motor and roller, using the roller for leverage to stretch out the belt until you have the roller in it's compartment.
  7. Replace cover
  8. Put clips back in place.

THE ROLLER WON'T GO AROUND. THE EXTRA ATTACHMENT WORK WELL, BUT THE ROLLER STOPPED GOING AROUND.

HI There,

This is definitely a problem with your belts. This Hoover Windtunnel Self-Propelled models has a poorly designed belt system that frequently goes bad. Most customers will have to replace the belt once every 8-12 months, some even more frequently than that.

There are 2 belts on this machine, and it's recommended that you replace both belts at the same time. If you just replace one of the belts, this will cause the other belt to go bad quicker.

If you don't already have the replacement belts, here are links to these belts through us:

Here's a helpful video that we've recorded that shows you step by step on how to replace these belts, as well as how to do the basic maintenance on the roller brush to prolong the life of the belts as long as possible.

Describe how to replace belt on hoover windtunnel bagless

If you turn the vacuum so the bottom is facing up you will see the base plate that covers the roller brush. There will be four screws (usually phillips head), remove the screws and the base plate will lift off. You now have access to the roller brush and belt. Lift the roller brush up and remove the old belt. Place one end of the new belt over the motor shaft and the other end over the roller brush and put the roller brush back in place. Now simply replace the base plate and you're done! This models requires Hoover belt # 38528033 (single) or Hoover belt #40201160 (2 pack). You can get this belt at www.vacbelts.com.

Hi I have model u64330-900 hoover windtunnel. It

Hello,
It sounds like your vacuums belt is stretched and worn. You'll need to replace it. Below is a link to a website that gives instructions with pictures on how to change the belt. You should be able to get a replacement belt at any department store or vacuum retailer.
I hope this helps you.

Belt will not stay on hoover windtunnel s3765

The Hoover Windtunnel™ Self-Propelled models have two belts, a flat belt and the V-Belt. This V-Belt is the one that drives the Brush Roller. After about three months, most belts stretch out causing them to slip. This means the brushroll turns slower or not at all and the self-propelled becomes increasingly harder to push. It is recommended that both belts should be changed at the same time.

BELTS ON WINDTUNNEL VACUUMS

Greetings from GoVacuum,

Here's an instructional video that we made showing how to change the belt on a Hoover Windtunnel upright. If your model is not a self propelled model, basically follow the same insturctions, expect instead of placing the belt over the pulley, just put the belt through the roller brush, and stretch the roller brush back into the agitator housing.
Please feel free to send me an email if you have any other questions. My email address is chris.jones@govacuum.com.
