How do i fix error code 0023 on xbox 360.

This is a confirmed error code on either the GPU or CPU(most of the time the GPU). Your console got way to hot and cooled off, got way too hot and cooled off etc etc a multitude of times and created hair line fractures in the .06mm solder balls under either the CPU or GPU. Microsoft really screwed the pooch on first(white/phat) generation consoles by three things. Bad heat sink design for both the CPU and GPU, Bad tin/lead solder combination, and bad airflow. To resolve this you would either have to send the motherboard into microsoft to have both the CPU and the GPU undergo a process which is called reflow, AFTER both were lifted from the motherboard and replaced with a higher quality solder AND THEN upgrade the heatsinks to something of higher quality. I even go the extra mile on these things and dremil out a large hole on the top of the case to duplicate a fan install that you see present in the black models.

There are several reasons for hardware hangup.
But, if there is a problem with nVIDIA PCI express card, then the problem could be with the GPU.

It can be overcome by doing reflow technique.
You need to do following.
1. Uncover ur PC casing
2. Locate the nVIDIA PCI-E Card.
3. On the card, locate the power supply pin of GPU fan.
4. Remove the pin.
5. Switch on ur PC.
6. Still u may get scrambled display/wavy screen, but wait for 5 minutes.
7. Press reset button on ur PC.
8. Ur PC might work.
9. Switch it off.
10. Connect the power supply pin back as it is.
11. Power on ur PC.
thats all.

Removal of fan power, makes the GPU to get high heat, it a reflow technique.
Remember, not to touch the GPU portion (heat sink), as it may be in higher temperature.
Try this, it works most.

The specific type of hardware failure can be determined by a "hidden" error code
Turn the xbox 360 on, and wait till the 3 red lights are flashing.
Press and hold the sync up button (the small white one), while holding that button press the eject button.
The LEDs will now blink the first number in the code (as described below).
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the second number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the third number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will now blink the forth number of the code.
Release the eject button and press it again.
The LEDs will go back to the 3 red flashing lights.
You should be able to determine the difference between the 3 flashing lights and the error code lights by the rate in which they flash.

Here is how you interpret the LEDs to get the code number:
All four lights flashing - 0
One light flashing - 1
Two Lights flashing - 2
Three lights flashing - 3

0102 unknown error
though it's most likely GPU related literally means the console does not know what is wrong. possibly a short or cold solder joint somewhere. So far there is 1 major theory for what causes most of these errors is that the Ram, CPU, or GPU are not soldered properly to the mother board due either to poor manufacturing or excessive heat up and cool down cycles that stress, weaken and eventually break the soldered connection.
There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your console is still under warranty. If your console is still under warranty return it to the store where it was purchased or call MS to have it replaced. I have also heard of limited success by simply switching the AV cable from "HDTV" mode to "TV" mode.

Motherboard failure

If the system appears to power on, but you do not see anything on the screen, there are several methods to determine the problem at hand.

Make sure the cooling system is fucntional.. a bad CPU fan has been known to make the computer power on, but halt and do nothing to protect the CPU. Some CPU fan's have speed sensors, and other do not, some motherboards require the speed sensor to be functional, or resistance in the line.

Some mainboards will function enough to power the system up, but go no further due to onboad componant failures such as bad / broken SMR, SMC, or capacitor. If you are sure the mainboard works, and the monitor is known to function, proceed with the following troubleshooting tips.

1) Remove everything but the memory, GPU, CPU, and HDD, see if boot is successful, if not Step 2)

2) Replace the Power supply, under powered PSU's can make a system unresponsive / fail to make it to POST, if fails step 3)

3) Replace Memory, if fails, 4)

4) Replace GPU.. if fails, 5)

5) Replace CPU, a non-funtional CPU will alow everything to power up, but will not allow POST in some machines.

6) Replace Motherboard, if fails, start at step 1)

Hi!

First of all i want to sugest you to make sure that you have maximum of memory, you gona need it if you want to edit videos.

If you want to do video editing the most inportant component is the CPU, then comes the memory, after the memory come the HDD, and after that the GPU

Now the GPU, you have a pci-e 16x port on that MB, so i will give you 3 diffirent sugestions, from a not that expensive to a more expensive to the third that is expensive but not the most expensive GPU there is, all of the very goos for vidoe editing.

1) SAPPHIRE RADEON HD4670 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E VGA/DVI/HDMI

2) SAPPHIRE RADEON HD4870 512MB GDDR5 PCI-E DVI

3) ASUS RADEON HD4870 DARK KNIGHT COOLER 1GB PCI-E DVI

There u have 3 very good GPU:s, but as i told you the most important is the CPU and the memory!

Good luck
