connect the printer directly to the walloutlet....
try with a different walloutlet as well....
then unplug the power chord from the back of the printer as well as other cables if it is connected without turning the printer off...
then press and hold the power Power cycle unit by switching the power switch off, wait for 10 seconds, then power on..
if it does not work then
Turn the printer off.
Press and hold down CANCEL and Start Copy buttons at the same time while powering on printer.
Continue to hold down buttons until the control panel display reads PERMANENT STORAGE INIT.
Release the buttons. Printer will return to Ready automatically
there is a rest of the paper jamed still inside the printer you need to remove all the jamed paper then it will work, to find out where the paper stuck's open the front and rear cover, maby you have to remove the toner cardriges as well.
Hi, The paper jam could be in three places. First:
Open the cover of fixing section, its above bypass, and check for jamed paper
Open the transfer cover, these cover has handle and it goes by pulling toward you, and check for jamed paper.
In hight of first paper cassette, on left sideway of copier, beaneath the bypass are small door, open it and check for paper jams. Be sure that you closed them properly because if they arent closed the check printer cover message will arrise.
it will be showing j-36, its the jaming code,
open front cover of the copier and then close it.
if still the problem persist then "two part" the machine,open front cover, and press the green lever downside and the release it,
now remove the paper from the machine where it is stuck and then close the machine and turn it on.
code will be removed..........
Could be a defective sensor. But before you jump to conslutions, check the following. remove the paper tray and look inside for paper. open all the covers, front and side. If you look in to the side cover you will see a rubber roller running on a silver roller. Turn the rubber roller with your finger and see if there isn't any paper stuck there, While you are at it also check on the top of the opening where the fuser is located for stuck paper ( Fuser is hot so be carefull) Close all the covers properly. If the problem is still there It might be a sensor and will have to be replaced. Let me know if you need any more help.
Turn of the printer, and do not close any of the tray or doors before all of the jams are cleared.
1). remove the paper from paper tray, removed the tray and remove the jams.
2).open the front cover and removed the toner cartidge assembly, remove any jams in this area, and behid the toner cartridge asembly.
3).left the flap at the front of the printer adn remove any jams heneath the lap.
4).Open the rear exit and remove any james.
close all covers and reinsert the paper tray and turn on the printer.
first, if thare any paper is jamed in the paper tray, pull the paper stright out. take out the remaining paper. close the paper tray.
opne the front cover pull out the toner cartirdge, remove the jamed paper.
open the inner door (where the paper exit). make sure there is not paper jamed it.
close the front door. if any paper jamed inside of the machine, it should automatically eject it out.
Note: reset the printer by opening and closing the front door.
