Question about NEC Televison & Video

1 Answer

Hello, I have a NEC NP1000 projector and I have 2 questions: 1. The top and bottem of the picture are cut off. I have tried it using VGA, S-Video, and HD, all with the same results. It is also the same in all of the aspect ratio settings (4.3, Letterbox, Wide Screen & Crop) and I have tried the horizontal and vertical settings too. When I use the same inputs on an Infocus LP820, the picture is fine. Any suggestions on how to correct this issue (NEC said bring it in for service, but the guy sounded like he couldn't tell the difference between a projector and a toaster). 2. This NEC projector seems dark for a 3500 Lumen output. I just installed a new bulb which helped, but my 3200 lumen Infocus out performs the NEC in brightness and color (not sharpness clarity though). Again, I have tried all of the different settings. Can you help? Thank you, Lou

If there is a reset to factory default, try that. Seems like some setting for screen zoom, or height/width adjustment got tinkered with.

URGENT: How can I connect my tv to my NEC VT695 projector?

Do you want to duplicate the image going from the source to the projector on your TV? If so, then if your TV has a VGA port, just use the monitor Out on the projector. If your TV doesn't have a VGA port, you'll need an appropriate converter. (Avoid a VGA to component video or VGA to composite cable.) If you add a comment with more information on the inputs for the TV (or the model of the TV), then I will try to point you to the correct converter.

If you want to get your TV signal to the projector, you would need a set-top box (cable, satellite, digital tuner) as the source. Most TVs do not have a video output. You can connect a computer or DVD player to the projector.

The manual and quick guide for the VT695 are available from NEC here: http://www.nec-display.com/dl/en/pj_manual/vt695_491.html . The direct link to the English language version of the manual is http://www.support.nec-display.com/dl_service/data/manual/english/vt695_491_manual_e.pdf .

I hope this helps.

How can I get the best video image quality with Nec np1000 projector ?

Your best option is using the COMPONENT IN input of the projector (Y, Cb, Cr). Though the highest video signal the projector will support is 1080i.

The projector doesn't use any kind of driver.
You just need to connect it to the VGA output of the PC and actually, enable that output.
Go to desktop settings and enable the second monitor. That will turn on the projector display.

Also, make sure the projector is turned on (Steady light on the power button) and that the VGA input is selected.

If you are using the vga input connection please take a look at all the pins and make sure none are bent this could be the reason you are missing one of the primary colors. If not check your cable pins.
