Question about Acer Computers & Internet
Depending on the type of computer you have and the operating system you are running will depend on what icons are displayed. If you have a windows pc running XP or Vista then the icons can look different at first.
The pc should also come with a getting started tutorial which would help you get started right away
The best idea would be to Click on START then All Programms then Accessories then TOUR WINDOWS XP
Work you way through this tutorial and if you are still finding you need more help then look around and find a company or individual who can give you some computer lessons. This way you will save money in the long run as there is so much to learn when you are not familiar with pc's.
Of course for all your quick solutions using FixYa is a great way to get answers quickly...
I hope this has helped
This will give you some basics about how Windows XP works

Have you tried to go to the manufacturer's website to download the manuals?
right click your mouse over the icon and see what the program is.
or you can go to start settings control panel add/remove programs and see the list of installed software. (most installed programs have icons, others, such as java, won't).
double click any icon and the particular program will start. click on the red X in the upper right corner to close any program.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
