Question about SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player

1 Answer

Recordings problem i frequently record songs off of the radio using my sandisk. one for some reason started showing up in my play order twice in a row (when i pressed skip, it would go back to that song). it wasnt saying that the two were separate songs. i deleted one, hoping it would only delete that one, but it took both with it. afterwards, the sandisk would pause when i went between the song that would normally be before and after where that song had been, and i couldnt skip backwards from the song that wouldve been after (32) to the song that wouldve been before (30). after trying the backwards skip button a few more times, my sandisk froze up and is refusing to do anything.

The database is corrupt - run the Sansa Recovery Tool and start over - back up your recordings first, b/c the recovery tool will delete everything:

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to the Sandisk website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out.
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

The sales person said i could receive fm radio on this mp3 player

When it's booted up use the +/- buttons to navigate to radio, press play/pause to enter the radio tuner, it's default station is 88.something , use the |<< and the >>| buttons to navigate stations, hold the player around in the air to fin good reception, look around in the radio menu and you can record songs/talk shows off the radio, be careful, if you're recording and you hear static, it will record the static. good luck!

Cannot record audio from Youtube.com. Must transfer new songs onto mediaplayer.

Take Windows 7 OS as an example, here I'll show you how to record music from YouTube with sound Recorder program.
cannot-record-audio-from-youtube-com-oxaxc0rwhkhzilrwacqreyis-4-0.gif
  1. Open Sound Recorder by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Sound Recorder, and then, in the list of results, click Sound Recorder.
  2. Play the music or radio you want to capture, and click start recording.
  3. To stop recording audio, click Stop Recording.
Note: Make sure you have audio input devices like Microphone.
This method is absolutely free but you have to play with speaker and use microphone, and it's very difficult to control the quality of the audio you capture.

Here are some more tools as well as methods to help you record audio from YouTube.

Problem puting songs on

The MAC reformatted the player, and eliminated the formatting that contained the music songs - this player had a dual mode system where it could either function as an MSC device or an MTP - the manufacturer placed Recordings and Radio on one mode, and music files on the other. A PC can recognize both sides. Macintosh cannot. This player is not MAC-compatible.
