Question about Hitachi 50V500 50 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

The lamp fan is making a vibration/noise

When we turn the TV on the fan goes on very loud. We turn the tv off and turn back on and the fan does not make the noise. We replaced the fan, but it continues to make a vibrating noise. We're assuming the replacement fan is bad too. Any other suggestions?

If the frequency of the sound changes more likekly you have a bad color wheel, if a certified service center is working whit it, call hitachi costumer service problably they will pay forr the light engine(where the color wheel is located)

Hello

If the power light blinks slowly,

you've tried to turn on the TV during

the lamp cooldown cycle. Wait

approximately 30 seconds, and the TV
will turn on automatically.

If light blinks, pauses for about a

minute, and blinks again: the lamp is

trying to turn on (TV will turn on

when successful). If TV doesn't turn

on and sequence continues, the lamp also
needs to be replaced.

To order lamp call 1-800-338-0376.

Have your TV serial number

and lamp type available (you'll

find this information on the

sticker that's on the right side of
the TV).
OK.

Samsung dlp hls6186w, picture has darkened, could it be the lamp or is it the colour wheel??... tv is making sounds...I thought it was the fan, the fan looks okay??? It also shuts down once and a while...

The lamp is the only thing that will cause the picture to go darker. According to the model you have the lamp part number is BP96-01472A. The noise you hear could possibly be the color wheel itself. The way to tell is when you turn off the TV the lamp stays on for about 10 seconds longer. Once the lamp shuts off if that noise goes away then it is a bad color wheel. Any noises past that would be a fan. Please take a moment to rate my answer. Thanks...

Loud possible fan noise

if you are not afraid to get in to the back of tv, the chassie has 4 different fans, you can unplug the tv remove all of the screws on the back, and remove the lamp door, there are about 5 plugs on the top of the chassie that plugs in the tv,donot unplug these plugs ,you can pull the chassie out of tv until you run out of wire on the plugs, then plug the tv in,turn the tv on, and you might hear the fan thats bad. If you are not comfortable with this call a repair man,the fans are not that expensive, and are pretty easy to change.i can guide you thru the replacement process if you need my help.

Very loud fan or vibration noise

Listen from the back of the TV and locate the source of the noise. There may be fan with a bad bearing. The noise will lead you to it.
