Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

Just bought a new laptop. Bought the matching HP bluetooth laser mobile mouse to go with it. Have tried setting it up twice, exactly following the directions. After I get the setup disc in I get to the screen where it requires me to click on 2 different links and follow instructions from there. The first one goes fine and the 2nd "pairing" link does not go well, after I click on it I get a pop-up saying "cannot find BtCoreIf.dll" and that re-installing will fix the problem. Except that it didn't work when I tried it the 2nd time....

Could be a defective disc. You could try 1.copying the entire disc to a temporary folder on your hard drive and running setup from there, 2.check the manufacturers website for a downloadable version.

I have a Sigma optical mouse and my neighbour through the wall has recently bought a different remote mouse for their pc. Every time I use my pc at the same time as them there seems to be a conflict with...

Quite possible. As your mouse (from my research, anyway) doesn't have any way of changing the wireless signal channel or frequency, you may find it easier just to opt for a new mouse. To ensure it doesn't conflict, you may also want to think about getting a bluetooth mouse (and a bluetooth dongle if needed) rathe than a conventional wireless one.

I have a micro wireless keyboard, and I neeed a wireless mouse to match. Where can I buy one?

You could go to the place you bought the keyboard and see if they have a mouse too. If you want to use the same receiver though, the receiver (the part that plugs into the computer and communicates with the keyboard) you might consider purchasing a complete set, keyboard and mouse new. This has the advantage of using one USB connection on your computer. If you purchase a wireless mouse now and your receiver is not designed to support two devices, then you will use two USB connections.

Keyboard and Mouse

Try pricewatch.com.....if it exists you can probably find it there. But..is it essential you have a square one? The only determining factor for a keyboard or mouse is the connection....that ranges from wireless (in which case you must also have a receiver), to usb to serial. Look at the end of your keyboard and mouse and match it..they have pictures. By the way I recently bought several mice and keyboards on sale at Gearxs.com.....paid $2.44 and $3.68. They were new and logitech and worked. Tango.
