My first thought is that you are right. My second thought is that your computer is probably a couple of years old and some power supplies will wear out. Especially if there's a lot of dust bunnies running around. I'd first take a vacuum to it. Put the vacuum right on the fan of the power supply and let it spin it up, then move it to a spot opposite to that. If you can, remove the case side and vacuum inside as well. Get all the nooks and crannies, but be careful you don't knock anything loose. No guarantee it will help, but it just might.

My Acer Aspire will not boot and I don't have enough memory to fix it

Try a system restore to the last good boot. This has happened a few times with my acer and you just have to go back to a moment when your computer was okay. Other than that try a refresh which means installing some apps again. System restore is probably your best optio if it is turned on. Also try msconfig from the system prompt or boot into the administrator account start a new account and try to deal with the problems there with antivirus antimalware or both. If you made a boot disk try booting from that and turn off stuff in msconfig.
Good Luck I know it sucks.

Acer Notebook want boot up

Hook a spare monitor to the video output usually on the back, if okay! the inverter board just below the screen is most likely the problem, or the backlight behind the display. But if both show the same issue it is the video graphics card normally built into the motherboard.

Which F key do I use to reformat my Acer Aspire One A 150 netbook?

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

The first thing you need to do is save all of your pictures and files that you have on your computer to your email or upload them to another account that stores them. When you factory reset an Acer, it wipes it clean of everything you have downloaded on it. THIS IS PERMANENT ONCE FACTORY RESTORE IS DONE.

Turn your computer off.
Restart your computer.
When the Acer screen comes up, press and hold Alt+F10.
Keep pressing F10 repeatedly while keeping the Alt button pressed down.
You will be asked how you want to reset your computer.
Press Factory Restore.
This may take up to an hour.

If you are asked to enter a pass code, enter your pass code or 000000.

Hit okay.

My Acer Aspire 5520 blinks the power light when I turn it on; it will not boot up.

It looks like your battery is either discharged or has a short circuit.
Plug the power AC cord in the laptop and let recharge the battery at least 3 hours before you try to start it again. If the computer boots up, enter the BIOS and check to see if you have a "battery check" oprion. If you do, start it and let it run until it is done (it may take several hours to complete). It will check the battery charge cycle.

Acer aspire one, won't wake up from sleep mode, screen blank

I'm having the same problem, but I don't want to have to turn off my computer EVERY time it does this. (I have not been able to shut down the laptop normally because it goes into sleep every time.) I've heard that after 3 hours it builds up an eletrical charge and you have to take the battery out, but I havn't had it on for 3 hours at a time.

My Acer Aspire 5100 wont start up correctly

Try removing the battery and connecting the AC adapter then see if it boots up.
Reinstall the battery and keep the AC adapter connected and see if it boots up, if so leave it charge the battery for several hours.
If none of these work, get a replacement as there is a more segnificant problem.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

Acer t300

Open the case ( i take it your warranty has expired ) and check all connections, unplug the wires from the powersupply and plug them back in, when you try and switch it on, do any of the fans start spinning.. you probably have a dead CPU of motherboard..

Determine what CPU you have and borrow the same socket type from someone else if you can, slot it in and check, works = dead CPU

Good Luck
