In addition to what aborcass stated, I just had to fix the same problem. Remeber to turn off the power before you do this. On my stove the element acess is behind the side panel (right side when facing the stove). You remove two screws on the back and one underneath at the bottom, (you need to pull out the drawer). Once screws are out, slide the side panel forward gently about an inch and it should just drop off.
You should see the wires for the element level with the bottom of the stove. The wires will guide you to the element. And you should see that the element is screwed in with two screws to the stove. This is the tricky bit, to remove the element follow the metal piece holding the element to the right until you see a third screw. Remove this screw and the whole thing will come out. Take off the wires, replace the element on the metal strip, slide the element and metal strip back into the stove (take care to ensure the left side of the metal strip slides into the proper position under the metal clasp. Re-attach the screw, plug the wires onto the element and turn the power back on. You should have heat.
Good luck.

You will need to remove form the wall and access from behind, after removing hte back panel you see the 2 wires leading to the elemnt in the bottom right corner of unit, a few screws will remov ehte element form hte uit nad the new one will slide right in, if by some reason its not behind that panel 2 screws will remove the side panel and gain access form there

Gr673lxss 1 how to find hidden bake element

Kyle,
Usually what they mean by "hidden" element means that the bake element sits in a recessed part of the oven cavity. You only have one bake element and one broil element in the oven. Hope this helps.

Oven heats slowly, bake element has been replaced

Yes, it is very possible that when the bake element burned out, it may have shorted out to the case of the oven, and burned up the relay on the control board. If you have a voltmeter (and feel comfortable in doing this), remove the back of the oven, and measure the voltage across the bake elements when you set the oven to some bake temperature. Be careful, you are dealing with 240 volts AC here! IF you don't have any voltage anywhere near 240 V while on bake, then you probably have a bad electronic oven control. If you have just 120 volts, then check your voltage at your power cord or (better) at the junction box at the back of the range. You should have 120 volts from the center (white or green) wire to either the red or black wire; and 240 volts from the red to the black wire. Now IF you have 240 volts across the terminals of the bake element, then you may have gotten the wrong bake element (wrong wattage - lower watts than the original). Maybe you ordered the wrong one, or maybe they put the wrong one in the box.

LOCATION BAKE ELEMENT KESH307HBS4

This model has a hidden bake element located under the oven cavity. This is either accessable by a removable panel in the bottom of the oven or must be accesed from the back of the stove by removing the back panel and several screws. A diagram of the oven etc should be shown at either the searspartsdirect.com or appliancepartspros.com

Whirpool electric range - RF196LXMQ - Will not reach 350 degrees

When using Broil, it is normal for only the top element to work and it depends on the oven whether both should be on or not for baking but typically, baking does not use the upper element otherwise it could burn baked goods.
If setting the temperature higher than 350 does not cause the lower element to turn on, then it's likely that the thermostat has failed and can no longer respond to the temperature set.
The fact that both elements work under some conditions means that both of the heater elements are working at least some of the time. Because of the primitive nature of the elements, it isn't possible for them to just become 'weak' but they can interrupt themselves if there is a break in the resistance element but you could only separate the two possibilities by measuring the hot coil and that would be difficult unless you can pull the range out and access the AC feed lines that go to the element. Obviously, the power would have to be disconnected and the measurement done quickly so the element didn't have time to cool and regain continuity.

Oven heat

There is a bottom hidden element that is the main element used for baking and cleaning. If its not heating then the element has gone bad and needs replacing. If you have a volt meter then you can confirm this by checking the voltage between the two terminals sticking out of the rear of the range. There should be 240vac across the two. If you have that then you need a new element if you don't then you need a new control board.

MER57550AWAW electric - won't heat to selected preset temp

can you see lower (bake) element or is it hidden(under the oven floor). a visual inspection of elemnet is usually all that is required to determine if its good or not, It will have a "burn out" in it perhaps a plume of white soot around damaged area.in which case you will need to replace the element. simple enough 2screws and 2 wires part number 74010750.. if it is a "hidden" bake elemnt the floor oh oven lifts rightup to reveal it."POWER MUST BE TURNED OFF!!!!!!!! IT IS A CONSTSANTLY LIVE ELEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call avantiproducts.com sales (service didn't work) and get a replacement bake element. It was about $35 including shipping. Download the manual from the site and study the structure. Uncover the back cover using standard phillips screw. TO DO THIS, SHUT DOWN YOUR HOME BREAKER AND MAKE SURE THE OVEN OPERATION LUMP DOES NOT LIGHT. OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE EXPOSED TO HIGH VOLTAGE. Additionaly use multimeter to make sure the voltage is not there. Remove back inner cover. You can't remove this inner cover completely because of the thermostat line but try to make a work space in the lower part of the oven. The bottom element cover can be uncovered readily without any screw or pin. At this point you have access to baking element from the bottom of the oven. Loosen two nuts to remove the bad element. Reverse the procedure to install the new element.
