Question about Mozilla Firefox

Move location of mcafee site advisor toolbar

I have McAfee with SiteAdvisor and am using Mozilla Firefox. I have this combination on two different computers. On one, I was able to switch the SiteAdvisor button to the status bar on the bottom of the screen in Firefox. On the other computer, I can't figure out how I did that and the button is currently in its own toolbar under the bookmarks toolbar. Both are running the same versions of McAfee and Firefox. What setting do I have to switch to get SiteAdvisor to appear in the status bar?

McAfee SiteAdviser appears on a second line under the bookmarks toolbar. It used to appear on the bottom status bar on my old pc. How can I get it back down there without taking premium real estate on the top of the page?

The location is driving me crazy in that the Site Advisor is cutting into the visible space on my Acer Aspire One. I'm thinking of uninstalling it and loading WOT instead.

Ok if you were like me and updated your mcafee security and it updated your siteadvisor it moved it from by your status bar to your toolbar. I uninstalled mcafee internet security, then reinstalled it using the custom setting. After you do that do not install siteadvisor. Once all that is done install mcafee siteadvisor for firefox on its own and this should solve the problem it worked for me.

hello ,
update your firefox to the latest version . stable version . dont go for Beta versions or RC versions . and then update your antivirus .
see now .
check you dont have any other security suites installed on to your system . any antispyware or antvirus set on real time scans . they might be interfering with each other .
and if still AVG is troubling , no need to panic , there are plenty of other tools also available to keep you safe .
you can install these add ons ( work better than AVG .... ) - WOT - McAfee Link Scanner -NoScript -ABP -Ghostery -Better Privacy.
hope it helps ...

Firefox restrict bookmarks toolbar to read only

Hi.
At the moment you cannot do this, but a few days back i filed a bug on mozilla bugzilla, to add that feature in the latest version, to be released in late June, or early July.

I keep having problems with popups being disallowed on gaydar with my firefox browser even tho they are disabled

You need some anti-adware virus protection. You can buy it from Norton, McAfee, AVG, etc. Just Firefox browser will not protect you. However if you have a windows machine, windows Vista has Windows Defender that comes with Vista that blocks pop ups..need to get it soon before you get a bad virus.
