Question about Sagem PVR 6280 Freeview DTV Receiver / 40-Hours Video Recorder

1 Answer

Trouble switching on my Sagem 6200T PVR.

When I try to switch on my Sagem PVR, I have a great deal of trouble. Using the remote I press the on/off continuously and it can take upto 3 or 4 minutes before I get a response from the unit. Bad remote batteries I here you say! But not the case, when the unit is on and working the remote is quite sensitive and works perfectly. The unit switches off perfectly every time using the same on/off button on the remote. Can anyone help, I am at a loss as to what the problem is.....

Thanks for that. gha1. I feel it is not the batteries, for as I said the remote works perfectly all the time-every time once the unit is turned on, but just fails to wake up the unit when first trying to turn on.

I have the same problem. Not sure if it is the remote or the box. Bought a universal remote but no joy

I also have the same problem. It takes ages to turn the box on with the remote. Once on, it responds immediately to all the remote buttons including the on/off button

Hi margaretanne on Dec 02, 2008

I have a similar problem with mine. I find the battteries are loose, I remove the back of the remote, jiggle the batteries and press the button, and it works, until I drop the remote and the batteries loosen again.

    Hi margaretanne,

Mine and my mates sagem-digi-box (no recorder) are both a bit hard to wake up, until we "tickle" (lol) the batteries. Then they work just fine too, sorry that didn't work for you, but maybe we've helped some other sagem user, along the way ;-)

I have an error code 01 on my sagem PVR set top box. The manual says perform a programme search then doesn't indicate how. i have tried to press the menu to get the original installation but nothing...

Unplug the box from the mains and leave fro 15 mins. Unplug the antenna (aerial), plug back into the mains and switch on. It will show 09 error; ignor. Press ók'on the remote. The box will reset and reboot into stby. Plug antenna back in and switch on. With a bit of luck you will be able to do an automatic channel scan (refer to your manual).
Er 01 refers to a failed upgrade, so you may have corrupted firmware, which is not good.

After accepting a download of software on 09/11/09 my SAGEM HDD type DVR 6200T is just sitting with a blank screen on the TV and P603 flashing on the display. Hopw can I reset the system?

Although the Sagem PVR 6200 and 6200t are not specifically listed as models which have been known to have problems with the recent Freeview retune they are very closely related to the 6280/6240 models which are known to have issues and share most of the same firmware and software.

See the address below for a chart of affected models although it's proven not to be a comprehensive list, you'll need to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to find out how to resolve this issue..

Sorry I can't provide you with a definite solution but it's very likely that your model is one of those which only Sagem can sort out.

Sagem pvr 6200T UK freeview box, display frozen.

I left the box and went for a walk!!!

About four hours after having freezed an error 09 message came up on the set top display and then everything returned to normal, after an on TV screen message that update had been successful.!?!

No difference in in any operation of the freeview box.

Note to self and other users
DO NOT PRESS OK WHEN ASKED TO UPDATE SET TOP BOX.

Updating the channel tuning does seem to work ok, though I have to vary between where channel 4 can be found - or learn welsh!
