Not printing Paper feeds OK; and I just changed the toner cartridge when it would not print. I shook the new cartridge before I installed it as per instructions. Everything seems to be working but it just does not print.

If the paper is coming out blank then there is a problem with the Primary transfer.
this is located on top of the drum, it is a thin wire that charges up to make the copies, it may be broken not sitting correctly or bad.
take out the drum and look for a thin wire that is on the top of the drum,if you cannot find it replace the drum

Since i install a new drum, i have smudges on my copies how do i fix

    Sir/Madam

If you have Brother Printer print quality problems, Then I suggest You clean the Your Brother printer drum unit as follows:

Small Spots on the printed pages:

If your printed document has any small white or colored spots, follow the steps below.

1.Open the manual feed slot cover.

    2. Using both hands, slide the manual feed slot paper guides to the width of the paper that you are going to use.

3.Using both hands, put one blank sheet of paper in the manual feed slot until the front edge of the paper touches the paper feed roller. Wait until the machine automatically feeds the paper. When you feel the machine pull in the paper, let go.

    Note
    • Make sure that the paper is straight and in the correct position on the manual feed slot. If it is not, the paper may not be fed properly, resulting in a skewed printout or a paper jam.
    • Do not put more than one piece of paper in the manual feed slot at any one time, as it may cause a jam.
    • Do not put paper in the manual feed slot before the printer is in the Ready state. An error may occur and the printer will stop printing.

4.Make sure that the printer is in the Ready state. Press + or - to choose "Color Correction". Press OK.

5.Press + or - to choose "Drum Cleaning".

6.Press Go. The printer will pull in the piece of paper and start cleaning the drum unit.

7.When the printer has finished cleaning, "Completed" appears on the LCD.
Press Cancel so that the printer returns to the Ready state.

8.Repeat steps 3 to 7 two more times using a new blank sheet of paper each time. Upon completion, please discard the used paper. If the print problem still remains, please go to the Step 9.

Large spots on the printed pages:
Hint If your printed page has colored spots at 94mm (3.7 in) intervals, please follow the step below.
    1. 9.Turn off the printer power switch.

    caa08e02-67b8-4b61-b1fd-f671f7a5511b.gif

    10. Fully open the top cover by lifting up on the handle (1).

    51223372-6d42-4884-a45a-5442dfcea382.gif

    11. See the print sample to identify the color causing the problem. The color of the spots is the color of the drum you should clean. For example, if the spots are cyan, you should clean the drum for cyan. Take out the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly of the color causing the problem.

    Caution
    • We recommend that you place the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly on a clean, flat surface with a sheet of disposable paper or cloth underneath it in case you accidentally spill or scatter toner.
    • To prevent damage to the printer from static electricity, DO NOT touch the electrodes shown in the illustration.

12.Push down the green-labeled lock lever (1) and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit.

    Caution
    1. Handle the toner cartridge carefully. If toner scatters on your hands or clothes, wipe or wash it off with cold water at once.

13.Put the print sample in front of the drum unit, and find the exact position of the poor print.

14.Turn the drum unit gear by hand while looking at the surface of the OPC drum (1).

15.When you have found the mark on the drum that matches the print sample, wipe the surface of the OPC drum with a dry cotton swab until the dust or glue on the surface comes off.

DO NOT clean the surface of the photosensitive drum with a sharp object.

Note Make sure that you put in the toner cartridge properly or it may separate from the drum unit.

17.Slide each drum unit and toner cartridge assembly into the printer. Make sure that you match the toner cartridge color to the same color label on the printer.

C- Cyan, M- magenta, Y- Yellow, K- Black

We got all new ink cartridges for our printer but it keeps saying that the toner is low and won't print. We shook them all like it said but we can't figure it out. Hopefully you can help us...

First of all, this printer is not inkjet, is a laser printer. It has toner cartridges, not ink. Was the cartridges you changed, originaly? Every cartridge has a chip and the printer recognize them being originaly. If the cartridges are not originaly or compatible, the printer doesn't recognize them and can't read the chip to reset the message " replace cartridges" and doesn't print anything.

HP Photosmart 3200 All-In-One not printing yellow

Step1
If you're setting up the printer or changing the toner or ink cartridge for the first time, double-check the instructions to make sure that you installed the cartridge correctly and, for new printers, that you have removed all the pieces of cardboard or plastic packing material.
Step
2
Check to see whether paper is feeding from the paper tray. If it's not leaving the tray at all, try feeding a page manually (if that's an option) or using a different paper tray. Sometimes a problem with the tray can be traced to a broken spring or a piece of plastic.
Step
3
If paper is feeding from the tray but jamming in the printer, examine where the jam is occurring and then inspect the printer carefully to see if you can find what is causing the problem. A piece of paper, for instance, might be blocking the paper path.
Step
4
If paper is feeding through the printer but coming out blank, check to see whether the printer is out of toner or ink. A defective toner or ink cartridge could be the problem.

Samsung ML-2510 Red light on & won't print.

This may be a help. I had a similar problem with an ML-2850 which fresh out of the box refused to print, not even a test page, green light followed by red and the smart panel showed that the printer thought that there was no toner in it.
After struggling with it for an hour I hit upon the following.
Turn off the printer.
Take out the toner cartridge.
In the hole where the toner came from there's a gear on the left hand side which is sort of diagonal mesh to match the underside of the toner cartridge. Rock it back and forth a bit and then stick the cartridge back in.
My guess is, if you're unlucky when you install a new cartridge you could have a situation where the gear is in exactly the wrong position, tooth to tooth with the underside of the toner so this gear doesn't mesh properly, the cartridge doesn't seat properly, which then shows the printer as having no toner in it. Waggling the gear just changes the position slightly and then voila. A bit like rocking a car back and forth in gear to free a stuck starter motor.
