Question about Gateway Computers & Internet

My computer screen went out Sunday and I got out the troubleshooting book and telephoned Gateway. After following the instructions by technician, I was told that I needed to talk to a Level II person and would have to call back Monday. Today I waited 1 1/2 hours to talke to someone and the line was disconnected. I need help I have a $372.58 C-Value Plus Plan 3 yr parts/labor/onsite/TechSup-DTMid plan and want to know waht to do? My computr was bought through HSN My serial number is003897638. Model DX430X and is 1 1/2 yrs old. I was given a number 1 -408-273-0808 and have stayed on the phone over 2 hours with extended wait time - can't talk with anyone. My husband is in Real Estate and is losing valuable time for his job. We have two Gateway computers and this may be a mistake. Pleae advise us what to do. We were of the opinion that the plans we bought was onsite as stated on our bill.     Is it a flat panel monitor? Unplug it and plug it back in, with the computer on,

    Then press the monitor power button. Does it display a POST check ( thre colored bars ) or say anything like, DIGITAL or ANOLOGUE?

Try put off PC unplung Monitor VGA and power cord wait for a couple of minutes and replung every thing and test.

restart the computer HOLD the keys CTRL+f8 and go to the troubleshooting. and follow the steps.

Otherwise you must problem with the O.S.. reinstalling

I have a gateway i need to install recovery cd's, how?

According to the manufacture's manual, you should turn on the C, then press F11 and follow the on-screen instructions.

Gateway sx2851-41 turns on but won't start windows


It appears that the Windows is corrupted on your computer, you can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction.
NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

If the above steps are not working then I am sorry to say that it is going for repair as the Hard disk might have corrupted.

Gateway computer serial # 0028346288 - Ports on front of computer do not work. Also, printer works but computer show, "printer offline". Any suggestions as to this problem?


You have not mentioned the Operating System on your PC and also the Printer which you are using.

First step is to Right click on the printer icon and click SET PRINTER ONLINE and Turn off the printer and turn on and try to print

If you are using Windows 7 Operating system,
Right click on the printer icon and Click on TROUBLESHOOT
Follow the instructions and this will resolve the issue.

Computers boots up then application error i get blank screen

with recovery or win cd in drive restart pc and do a format
when prompted hit enter to start with cd
then choose option for new installation then when asked to delete selected partition choose option to delete
then just read and follow instructions

My gateway laptop will not display anything except the name GATEWAY. I was instructed to purchase an operating system cd, now that I have the cd to load it on the laptop I discovered it does not give me...

it shows the hard disk of your laptop is un-detectable. check the hard disk connector/power, if u can or consult a technician for the same. if it does. then put the system disk in to cd drive and boot from it.

I have a Gateway Laptop purchased in 2006.Serial # 0036378223. This computer warranty is expired. It has recentlty gotten dropped and damaged. I would like info on sending it in to Gateway to be fixed.
