Well without knowing what system you are running it would be hard to diagnose, but I would guess that you either have a system issue and need to reinstall the driver or the system, or you have a problem with your M.B.Have you checked in the hardware properties to make sure the drivers are there and there is no conflict?

Hope this helps

A video I made years ago off my mobile phone and downloaded to my desktop played great, but now has lost the audio portion of it

It might be that computer has lost the audio codec it needs to play the video. Without know the type of file your video is I can't say anything more. But you can right click on the file itself and look at the file's properties. That might tell you what the audio codec is. You should be able to download the codec once you know what it is.

How do I connect a camera to my pavilion n5430?

Follow these steps :

Identify the ports you have on your computer and video camera. Typically there will be a small door or flap at the rear or near the bottom that covers the ports. You computer may have ports in the front as well as the rear. You video camera may have more than one of these ports and may not have all of them.
Find the i.LINK port. i.LINK is
version of IEEE-1394 standard (aka) Firewire. It is commonly found on DV (Digital Video) varieties of camcorders. You may find the smaller 4 pin connector on your camera if it is a compact video camera. Typically the larger 6 pin variety is found on computers and larger camcorders. i.LINK transfers both video and audio. For more information click on "How i.LINK Works" in the Resources section.
Find the USB port. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is another connector like i.LINK for transferring digital video and audio. Typically a mini USB connector such as the "Mini-A" will be found on your camcorder than large flat "Type A" connector typically found on computers.
Locate the S-Video jack. The S-Video jack is a round 4 pin analog connector. S-Video is for only video transmission. You will need to connect the red and white audio RCA jacks or use a phono port to transfer the audio to your computer.
Find RCA Audio/Video Jacks. These round single pin ports usually are found in a set of three of different colors. Yellow is video, red is for right audio, and white is for left audio. On some Handycam's, there may be a mini-plug that is an all in one Audio/Video jack that you plug in a special cable (as seen in the photo) that connects your camera to standard yellow, red, and white RCA jacks on your computer.
Choose a matching pair of ports you have on both your computer and your camcorder.
Turn both your computer and camcorder off.
Connect your computer and camcorder with the appropriate cable. Turn on both your camcorder and your computer.

I'm attempting to install a ati radeon 3450 in the agp slot. The end result I'm shooting for is HDMI with audio. I only hope for 2 channel audio, not true digital audio, and as I understood the card's spec...

An HDMI interface passes both "audio" and "video" signals.

So, the "trick" will be to get your computer to "multplex" both "audio" and "video" into the HDMI interface. Low-end video-cards only output video.

You may need a patch-cord (line-out on your sound-card to line-in port on the video-card). Or, maybe the device-drivers that come on a CD-ROM with the ATI card include the necessary software to "simulate" such a patch-cord.

Ga-7zm motherboard. I have no video from beeps I was getting 8 beeps....that was memory problem

Many times during repairs or installation of a main program, the feed to the MB gets disconnected and you lose your video and some times audio. Please install the video driver again. You may have lost both video and audio and for this you don't hear beeps. In this case you will need to install both video and audio. Make sure that your drivers are not "zipped". That is what I do to my computers, also. CONSTANTIN (arzconst)
