Hyundia HPT 4250 H Flat screen TV has sound but no picture.
A little background: I got this tv used from my brother-in-law (I'm not sure how old it is). He told me that the HD was starting to go on the tv (the picture looked blury). I've used the set for about two months and al of a sudden a red vertical line (about 3/4 inch wide) appear in the left side of the srceen. Than was about seven days ago. Now when I turn on the set I get audio but not pitcure. Can you tell what might be the problem with the "no picture' issue and would this be connected to the HD blury picture?

Hi, This problem shows that the problem is in vertical section of the tv.This could be the vertical IC fault or the safty resistence could be open. Therefore check the safty resistor first if its ok the the problem is of vertical IC.

Several causes can be attributed to this. If the contrast and brightness have been tampered with then the display remains black. On the other hand if the picture IC is fried then this is possible. In this case you have to refer your unit to an expert. Hope this solution has been helpful?
hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down
screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in
view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have
you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead
from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is
completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i
think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up
.good luck hope it works
You usually have this type of lines when there in a problem with the frequency or voltage. Can you be more specific as to whether this problem is there always or when u use something specifically with the tv(like vcr, cable, etc..)
I think what has happened is that your power supply malfunctioned and what has happened is that a capacitor has blown up. I would suggest that you do a complete search of the power supply to determine the location of the blown capacitor, I would advise getting a schematic to aid you in this. If you don't have experience in electronics I would also advise taking the set to the shop or calling a repairman to take care of this issue.
