Fujitsu fi 6130c sheetfed scanners make a clicking noise, then jam.

I have 4 Fujitsu fi-6130c sheet-fed scanners which make a slight clicking noise (and dimple the edge of papers paper as they go through) during operation then eventually (and at times, randomly) jam. The devices otherwise work fine and are "low mileage." I've checked the feed rollers, etc but those are in good shape. The devices are out of warranty but if there's a shop out there that can repair this issue for a reasonable fee, I'd like to know about it! Anyone?

Thanks, SC- to more accurately describe the slight click I'd hear with the scanners- it came from the paper as it went past the glass in the paper path. The edge of the paper would then have the slight "dimples" or sightly downward bent edges I mentioned. The jamming would happen either sporadically after varied amount of use or in some cases as after one or two sheets. Paper counts on the scanners were from 615 to 34,000 or so. All scanners were produced 05/09, and were Rev 0C00.

Since I posted, I contacted Fujitsu USA and they replaced all 4 scanners with either new or refurbished 6130's (They look new.). KUDOS to them because the scanners had long been out of warranty. This is a company that I'd do business with again. Pass the word- Fujitsu rocks!

Thanks for trying to help, SC!

The "clicking" noise was coming from the paper contacting the raised edge of the glass as the paper was moved thru the paper path. At times it'd catch just enough to jam as the rollers kept feeding the paper until the jam was detected by the sensors and feeding stopped. As I posted previously, Fujitsu replaced the scanners with new or refurbished 6130 at no charge. Props to them as all 4 scanners were out of warranty. Thanks for trying to help!

Fujitsu Fi-6130Z is pausing after each page scans. How can we stop this so it is a continuous scan!

The command to scan comes from the host computer when it has recieved the previos scan and is done processing the data such as descew and borders. Faster host computer and or faster network if you are saving to a server. If the first few scans are fast then slows down then this is it. More ram in host will sometimes help.

Hi a vertical line is in image scanned please tell me how to solve this problem thanks

The lines are due to dirty scanner mirror. The printer/ scanner design is based Sheet-Fed Scanner. Open/Lift the scanner top (by pullung it near the area where you feed the paper to scan). Look out for the horizontal mirror and use a soft, damp, lint-free cloth to gently clean the scanner mirror, rollers etc. and enjoy clear scanning!

Good Luck!
Hope this helps! Dont forget to appreciate the solution!!

My Fujitsu fi-6130 scanner randomly makes a clicking noise while scanning. it seems to working just fine but the clicking noise drives me nuts!. It doesn't happen constantly but it happens enough that I am...

If you have a scanner with the manufacturing date of 3/09 - 8/09, then yes, the clicking noise is more noticeable after it heats up. The problem resides in the glass mounting that was made in production in those months. The glass mounting raises up and if scanning thick paper or cards it will jam up. This must be sent back to fujitsu to replace the base assembly, because this is a defect that affected thousands of customers.

Fujitsu FI-4220C only scans one page at a time.

The problem is not just to roll over, be changed and separation pad. These two components change very easily and boxes that are delivered and indications for replacement.
These are the codes for parts:
Pad Assembly - Part Number: PA03289-0111
Pick Roller - Part Number: PA03289-0001
After replacement counters to be reset for each Pieces. Open the scanner properties.

Usually have to display a maintenance message on the computer display, such as: separation pad should be replaced.

If there is to scan any messages like that, you have to clean the sensors around the separation pad. They are round and are getting a little inside. Click on the blue button at the top of the ADF and open the lid.

I hope you was helpful.
