Question about Pressure Washers

1 Answer

Isn't overheating but I check daily and there is no water in the radiator. I took it to a machanic today and he filled it with anti-freeze. I drove 25 miles and all the anti-freeze is gone. I keep the car in the garage and there is no liquid underneath when I move it. The machanic thinks I have a bad head gasket.

Why did my motor freeze until I let cool water flow through pump for a while

sounds like your pump or motor seized from overheating which makes parts swell / grow in size/expand so they stop working ,,,letting cold water flow through the pump would have cooled the parts and help shrink the parts again .. Overheating can do permanent damage to your machine.. I think it needs to be dismantled and inspected for damage by someone who knows what to look for. not sure if the problem is in the pump or the motor, hope that helped.....pete

Leaking in base somewhere, badly. Can't get any water out of wand either.

Pump leaks are nearly always from freezer damage. Replace pump and always use anti-freeze for winter storage.

HI can you please tell me rv anifreeze can be used in cars or is it just for powerwashers thank you

The anti freeze is to be used in cars only as when the cars are parked out in cold countries the water in the radiator, engine jackets , water pump should not freeze as it will damage the pump or the expansion in the radiator will damage the radiator , hose engine. Hence the need.

What do I have to do to winterize my pressure washer? It will be in an unheated shed all winter.

Gasoline goes bad after sitting for an extended period of time.
Old school people would drain the gas out of the tank but found this lead to rust forming in the tank.
Now it is best to fill the tank with high octane gas and use a winterizing fuel additive to prevent problems.
Also remove any water from the hoses.
In the spring replace the gas and change the oil and you should be good, changing the spark plug would also be beneficial.
