On the left Top of your monitor is a apple Logo.Tip on it and select "About that Mac"
A Window pops up and you select "More Info"
it shows you the OSX on it. OSX 10.3 or OSX 10.4
Google "Safari Browser for OSX 10.? "
Download it and it will work.
You may have the latest Version.
Yes it is very easy to do as you are running a Mac with Intel Processor. You have Mac OSx Leopard with updates 1,2, & 3. To upgrade to Mac OSx Snow Leopard you must buy the upgrade. Go here:
On the top right click (Buy Now) You will have to pay $29 which is a bargain. Once you get the upgrade on CD simply follow the directions for the simple upgrade. I did the same thing when Snow Leopard came out. It is well worth the $29.
Turn off computer. Turn ON computer and immediately hold down Apple+option+p+r. after 4 chimes let go. You are going to be using the Firewire cable. once the camera is on and plugged into computer go to : apple> about this mac> more info click on Firewire. on the right hand side you should see your camera.
Now if you don't its either the Firewire port on camera or the cable it self.
to further isolate. Get your older computer. leave off. plug the firewire cable into both computers. Now the older computer that is turned off. TURN ON and immediately hold down the " T " on keyboard. ON the polder mac, your screen with have like a "Y" icon.. its a Firewire icon. Now look on the other computers desktop, do you see a yellow or blue hard drive on desktop. IF you do.. ITS your camera because we just tested your cable and both ports and they are working.
Now try the USB cable and see if its detected by computer by going back to Apple system profiler and see if the computer is detecting it
