Sharp Copier AL-1631. Copies with a black line (which moves positions on the page each time). Checked the manual and cleaned the part that it told me to. That did nothing to fix the problem.

If it only happens when using the document feeder (if fitted), then the small glass on the right hand side needs a clean ( normally tippex), if it occurs when copying from the glass and doc feed then your charge corna needs cleaning

- Open the side toner, open the front door, remove toner. To the right of toner is the drum unit, remove. Have a look at the condition of the drum, should be shiney and clean, if it looks dull and scratched, replace complete unit. if it looks ok then on top of the unit there is a aluminium unit held in by two chrome screws remove and then remove the corona unit (can be a bit tricky). Once out, the under side has a grid ( a fine mesh), clean that and the under side as well, with a clean cloth and meths or similar. replace all items and testCheers
