Question about Televison & Video

When I try to turn on my Sanyo PLCXF12NL Projector it cycles on for a second and then shuts down. Both the green power and red "lamp" light are on and there appears to be a "flash" of light before it powers off. It this a burnt out lamp or some other problem? What should I do?

This is a projector not a projection TV.

Re-seat the lamp first
check ventilation (where the exhaust fan blows)

if issue is the same, a lamp replacement is needed (maybe burnt out or faulty)

Just unplug the unit from main power outlet and wait for sometime and check out.if still the same problem the lamp should be replaced.or any capacitor is shorted out.needs replacement.

I think this is a faulty lamp in need of replacement.

The lamp should be tested for continuity, and eventually replaced.

The symptoms are the same as a broken lamp,
try first the projector on a different ac outlet, just in case.

To know if a lamp has blown, or is defective, you start inspecting the lamp visually, if it looks burned , than it needs probably to be replaced.

To know if a lamp has blown you can use a multimeter and test the lamp for continuity.

Post me back your feedback if you want, I will go offline soon, but I will answer you within 24.

    Thanks

Wont power on

Sounds like you need a new bulb, or possibly new lamp. The red/green flashing is the warm up to get the bulb ready. If it's shutting down after that, instead of turning on, it means the bulb isn't working - that's a common thing, for the bulb to burn out. Possibly the lamp's bad, but that's much less likely.

Tv just shut off, so i un-pluged it for a few, turned it back on green light flashes for about 20 seconds then red lamp light flashes, tell me the bad news

Yup.. it's bad.. sounds like a typical Switchmode power supply fault or some other fault that is shutting down the PSU, to stop any more problems and prevent a fire etc. I guess it cannot hurt to obtain a firm "Quote" for repair from a reliable service center?

I have a infocus X2 projector that powers on for about 15 seconds then turns off ( the light goes from green to red). What is the cause of that.

Your projector most likely has a bad ballast board(lamp power supply) that is the most common cause of this problem. The reason why this happens is because the lamp is drawing more power than usual and hence the protection circuitry will shut down the projector as precautionary measure to avoid damage to the components.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

When I attempt to turn on my tv it will power on green, fans run, and then shut down power red

The solution to this particular problem was the projection lamp was blown. Simple fix, but the bulb is on the expensive side.

My infocus IN1 projector won't turn on anymore.

Hi,
It may be the lamp is out. Normally a projector will try & fire the lamp 3-5 times then shut down with a different color light like amber or red. If the lamp doesn't light then it could be the lamp or perhaps the lamp ballast that starts the lamp has failed. A stuck fan also causes similar symptoms. There's 2-4 fans in the projector if one is stuck or bad it will turn off within 5 seconds or so after the lamp lights.
Does your lamp light at all? Are the lights a different color after it shuts down? Answers to these questions help figure out what's wrong though it's impossible to say for sure without looking at it. Green flashes then tv turns off

or a new lamp. you could first replace the lamp.
the screen might work fine for a couple of seconds, but then it fades away or deteriorates. This means the lamp is going bad.

51 magnavox projection tv-color mixing wrong

The are controls on the inside of the tv above the circuit boards for focus and to turn up intensity of the projector lamps (red, green, and blu). If you turn it up too far all three projector lamps kick off. If this happens, power off the set and turn down the lamp that you turned up. Power it back on and slowly turn the projector lamp up until the picture looks OK. You have to take off the panel on back of set to get to the controls.
