Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook
Hi I have the same problem as previously listed. My screen is saying:
PXE-E61:media test failure, check cable
PXE-M0F:eXITING BROADCOM pxe rom
No bootable device--insert boot disk and press any key.
But I do not have a disk and when I press ALT and F10 as in instruction manual, computer does not reapond. It does lt me access BIOS Utilities Hello,
Having the same problem as suggested above...changing boot order in BIOS does not help and no bootable CD was provided when purchased....have disabled network boot...any other suggestions?
the error you are getting, is related to the computer not being able to find a logical Drive. ( Hard-Drive Or CD Rom ) this could be caused by either A Virus. Or a corruption in the operating System. ( Windows System File Et,c )
If you check your computers manual, or website or you can enter the computers Bios screen.
Look for an option to restore setup defaults or similar, and save and exit to cmos/Exit.
Also see if there are options for using system restore. ( this is where your hard-drive will contain a seperate partition ) to enable a set of backup files to be loaded and run.
If you have a wireless network connected, remove or disable, until computer has re-booted. As your system could have been taken over by a hacker or similar program/virus.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

SOURCE: Acer aspire 3515 reboot
Hopefully, though, there's just some craziness going on with the Boot
....suggests that the error messages you are seeing are from a failed
attempt to boot from a network source.
Check the boot order in your BIOS to insure that the hard drive is
fairly high in the list. Generally, I have it something like this:
(1) Floppy Drive
(3) Hard Drive
If you do this, will it boot from the hard drive?
Will it boot from a bootable CD?
