Question about Kenmore 82822 Electric Dryer
I pushed the control lock button and can not get it to come off of lock status. I pressed the end of cycle signal button like it says to and it won't work. Also, my husband just spent the day taking apart all the control panel stuff and letting it sit for a while and putting it back together, still not unlocking. Have also tried unplugging for an hour and plugging back in still to no avail. Help please

SOURCE: Control Panel
I believe the DRAIN/SPIN button on the Kenmore Elite HE3 will clear a locked control panel if you hold the button in for 3 seconds. This is actually a safety feature to keep small children from playing with the buttons and allows the consumer to lock the control panel. I hope that's all the problem you have and that it is not a control panel failure. Let me know if this helps. PS The matching Kenmore Elite Dryer uses the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for the same feature.

You may have inadvertently locked the control panel. You should be able to clear it by pressing and holding the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds. (It should have Control Lock instructions listed righ under this button).

HI, there may have been a slight power failure within the home breaker unit or the dryer may have lost power to the control for some sort of reason.
I recommend a thorough inspection of the terminal block on the back side of this unit. make sure the power cord is attached tightly and the wall outlet is secure and holding the power cord correctly. if everything looks great with the terminal block and the power cord is plugged in the outlet correctly, simply unplug this unit for 5 minutes to reset the control. after the 5 minutes are up, plug the unit in once more and the PF alert should reset.
Make sure the breaker box in your home is working properly. (the actual breaker switch for the dryer must be in the on position)
