Reinstall an updated driver or download the dianoastics software.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

Unable to load software for HP PSC 1400 to Vista

Download Vista drivers from here.

http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_lang=en&h_cc=uk&cc=uk&h_page=hpcom&lang=en&h_client=S-A-R135-1&h_pagetype=s-002&h_query=PSC+1400&submit=%C2%BB

As the 1400 doesn't appear in the list so make sure you check the model number.

Most of the drivers for the series are the same as will be the software.

Vista has had notoriously poor driver support, but it is improving. There is no reason I can think of the driver above wouldn't work. But if this is the case the generic HP deskjet drivers will work.

Printer HP PSC 1400 to run with Vista program

You will need to go to the HP support site,
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
Find your specific printer, and download the driver for Vista. Should not be a problem after that.
