Mitsubishi shogun key fob not working

Recently the key fob on my 2004 model shogun stopped working. I replaced the battery, but it still doesn't work. Do I have to key in a new code? If so, what is it and how do I do it?

SOURCE: Have 56 plate seat leon 1.6 .the alarm keeps going

I have Seat Leon 07 and my alarm has gone off loads of times in the last 18 months. The first time it was the window motor that went - went in under warranty and part replaced - it's now back in the garage getting the same problem fixed again. the neighbours are fed up with the alram going all times of the day and night. Hope this helps

I have a viper 7701 remote that just stopped working. Battery is new. Do I have to re program something

If it is the OE (original equipment) key fob, meaning if it is the alarm remote control that came with the original purchase of the car it should not need reprogramming. If it is an aftermarket alarm then it may need reprogramming, more information is required to answer the question.
This is a common issue and the most common problem is that the solder joints holding the battery in the proper location. If any of these are broken the remote will not function. It can be fixed with a little solder or if your uncomfortable with doing it yourself, take it to a computer repair store (they can fix it ONLY if you have a broken solder point).
Take the key fob to the closest auto parts store (aka. autozone, o'reilly's, advance) and near the counters they have a key fob testing equipment (FREE). If the remote is working a light will blink when you push the key fob button while close to the testing equipment. If the testing light shows that the fob is working but does NOT unlock your doors, it needs reprogrammed. If the testing light doesn't blink at all, repair or replacement of the key fob is indicated.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Key fob connection

Some ebay sellers sometimes offer spare casings, often taken from scrapped vehicles. Or try contacting the wrecking yards yourself.

Mitsubishi are correct in stating that fob casings are not supplied as spare parts though, the reasoning is that after around six years the fob buttons are usually almost worn out as well so it makes sense to replace the entire fob. Afterwards, the vehicle and all fobs need to go to Mitsubishi or to an automotive locksmith to be programmed as a matching set. Mitsubishi aren't alone in this, many fobs need replacing at around six years old unless the vehicle is used less often than normal.

Toyota fob does not work

Fob needs to be reprogramed after replacing battery. Not familiar with the programing on this vehicle, may have to be done at dealership with a scan tool, if you have the manual look in there and it should tell you. Feedback is appreciated, the only way we know if something helps is if we get feedback.

I have a Mitsubishi FTO with a cobra car alarm model 7777. I have a immobiliser and a key fob but I cannot use the key fob to deactivate the alarm only the immobiliser? Please help

hold down both buttons on the remote till they stop flashing, then press left then press right, this will recode the remote to the alarm. if this dont work try new batteries, if not then find an engineer.

Central locking not working

Assuming that the battery mentioned above is the Key Fob battery?

The usual solution to the key fob not working the Central Locking after battery replacent  is to remove the car battery feed fuse   to the Central Locking (or disconnect the car battery )  for 10 minutes...replace it..... then it should work OK

note: If you disconnect the Car Battery then make sure you have the radio security code.
If not then POST A NEW QUESTION quoting your radio Serial Number (usually begins with M * * * *  * * )

My mazda key fob just stopped working so i changed my batt and now does not work at all what should i do

Check that thee battery polarity is correct and the contacts are clean and tight to battery. Often corrosion from old battery causes problem and some of these fobs can have battery reversed. Some reversals damage the fob fatally.

This is a common problem after changing the Key Fob battery.
