Re: cannot uninstall avg 8 completely
I have had AVG for a long time and it beats any antivirus i have ever had. but if you really want to remove it, use the add/remove programs, or go to the star menu, programs, AVG folder and select the UN-installer. once removed, then try again to install the new one. Make sure to select ( remove Virus Vault ) in the option when un-installing AVG.
If your still getting issues, go into C: and delete any remaing AVG system folders that may be left behind.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

hi, remove the security center. then click start and go to your applications list and look for macaffee there. if it is listed click that and you'll get a list macaffee program components, including an un-install, use that. this should work. removing macaffee can be a real pain. as far as catching malware forget it, macaffee antivirus couldn't catch a cold. manufactures love to provide it on new computers and internet providers offer it free but it is real junk. now your kaspersky is a good program but it costs money and is far from perfect. i have been using AVG free since microsoft released XP back in 2001. like the name says it is free and has done it's job admirably for me and my clients. team up with good free antiadware like " IObit security 360" and your machine will be as well protected as your would be with most security system that have annual fees. try cnet's download.com to find your freeware. hope this helped, aokcmpter
Lets begin. For the past couple of time I have try many many program for security. Differences between Anti Virus and Internet Security are pretty much self explain from the name. Anti viruses are first-rate when it comes to offline scanning for example what ever is inside the system it performs well and its reasonable. While Internet security can manage together online and offline scans through out the time for example when you are surfing the internet it protects viruses that tries to come with the files you download it also helps when you use a chat client. So for short its the best security for the system since it can protect you no matter in what situation you are.
Now its time for me to share what paid Internet Security I currently use is the Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.
I have experience with these softwares. Panda McAfee AVG Deepfreeze (Didn't use it but have seen its features and I know how it works) Avast Avira NOD32
For me I believe there is no best. It depends on you. When you get to try something that's the time you will start to feel how it performs for you. Although when I started using Kaspersky Internet Security I kind of got annoyed because of the pop ups that it gives when ever you install a software, game, or even run them. But I mean it gives total security right?
Now the best part about the Kaspersky Internet Security that any other Anti Virus or Internet Securities doesn't give me. Its called the Anti Banner
What does it do? It removes every single advertisement on any site even especially annoying ads on Youtube videos or even on sites have it on the sides and sometimes even at the top. It removes it all. It also helps your pages load faster and safer and did you know that the ads on sites are also viruses sometimes? Because what ever you do while you surf on the internet it's been downloaded on to your system hard drive. That's the reason why I use a browser that can be easily set to "Never remember history" It helps you to save space as well keep it safe from sites having viruses and worms.
Here in my Country it costs $65 - $75 for three systems. And its one year/each. That's the problem its expensive. You can still go for the older version which is the 2010 and it still performs perfect and it has the Anti Banner option. It comes in single user or three users. (Didn't see the single user price)
Kaspersky tells you whether this is because at some point that was
installed on the PC AVG8, but is unlikely to be removed either. I
recommend you look for the installation of AVG8, install and then
uninstall icon from the Add / Remove Programs control panel. This
should eliminate all traces that may remain in the system of AVG.
After this reboot the PC and can install Kaspersky without any problem.
2) Double-click on the downloaded file to run it 3) AVG will present you with three options to choose from. Choose the Uninstall option to completely uninstall AVG
Add/Remove Components - choose if you want to add/remove some components or reinstall the entire AVG program Repair installation - this option repairs or reinstalls missing or damaged components of AVG Uninstall - this option removes the AVG program from your PC 4) Once the uninstall has completed, restart your computer. You can then proceed to install another antivirus or install AVG again.
Sounds like you did not do things in the correct order or you did not reboot between the AVG uninstall and the Kapersky install, so that it looked like AVG was still loaded.
Since Kapersky is not installed, the best way to proceed is to start from a fresh reboot, download and re-install the AVG free edition to get the registry entries corrected. Don't bother with updates as it is coming back out again. Reboot and uninstall AVG. Reboot again and verify AVG is gone before attempting to install the Kapersky.
AVG free can be downloaded from free.grisoft.com assuming you mean the 8.0 version, not 7.5, otherwise try downloading from www.filehippo.com and select the older version.
just download the trial version of kaspersky antivirus its free and scan your conputer its a trial version for just 30 days if you want a full version antivirus then go for avg 8 my suggestion is for now install kasperky n after the trial period install the avg 8 to download kaspersky internet security click the link below
