Bad storm came through so I shut down PS3 and computer, then unplugged both. Now PS3 won't pick up my WGR614 v9. I know the PS3 is ok because it is picking up the neighbors router. Could a setting have been reset when it unplugged? Help...!

Can't play xbox 360 and have computer onlin on Netgear Router

1. If this is wireless I would try position the game box closer to the router or hard wire to the game box if possible.
2. You also may have a problem with bandwidth. The other computer is competing with your Xbox for bandwidth and the switch may not be able to supply it to both the device at the same time.
3. check if your router to see if you have QOS ( quality of service). Log into the router and check this feature to see if it is enabled.

Need network key for NETGEAR (virgin) to connect

for that you have to access your router.
connect your router to computer with ehternet cable.
then access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or http://192.168.0.1
type user as 'admin' and password as "admin" or blank or 'password'

then go to wireless security then you find WEP or WAP key there but it is in * or # format so you can't know it.
So you have to set new key so you can easily know it.
Then set new network key then save and restart the router then you can connect it with new key.

Got an xbox 360 for xmas want to go wireless with rotor

The NETGEAR CD is for the router only. If you are connecting the XBOX to the router, you must configure the router so that it can give a connection to your XBOX. Call NETGEAR for that. You can try this also http://technicalsupport.blog.friendster.com

Wireless problems

Hi there,

Here in Denmark, lots of people are well tired of this router.
It often loose internet connection, but a hard-reset fix the problem most times.
Maybe you just have to unplug the power for a few seconds and then plug it back in, - wait for a minute or two until all the lights are on.
If this doesn’t work, please respond, and well find another solution.

Xbox 360

Either the network connection between the 360 and router is not working correctly, or your router is not configured properly for DHCP.

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol that automatically assigns a network address (and some other settings) to your computer....or Xbox in this case. It works like this....when your Xbox connects to the network, it sends out a broadcast packet on the network that looks for a DHCP server. If a DHCP server is present, it responds. Next the Xbox requests its network address and other settings from the DHCP server. Your WGR614 router has a DHCP server function built in, but it may not be enabled. Try reconfiguring the router using the Netgear "Smart Wizard" installation CD and be sure to enable the DHCP capability, if asked.
