Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Insignia ns-2v17 i saw in one of your answers that you had the software needed to format videos to play on the player and that you could upload it. I have opened an account at inbox.com that you can upload it to. login information is insigniaplayer@inbox.com and the password is coolbeans This would be very appreciated because i just bought the player and it did not come with a cd.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

The problem is after service pack 3, xp pro does not recognize MTP devices any longer

  • Click on the Start button and Select Settings. Then click on Control Panel.
  • Double click System, and then select the Hardware tab.
  • Click on Device manager.
  • Click on the '+' for Portable device and you will see "Insignia Video Player".
  • Right click and select "Update driver".
  • A Hardware Update Window will open, Check the "Install from a list or specific location" checkbox and then click next.
  • On the next screen select "Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install".
  • Click next and then you will see a window showing multiple drivers, Select the "Portable Devices" driver and you can select MTP or USB mass storage.
  • Select "USB Mass Storage Device" and click next.
  • XP will finish installing the driver and you MP3/video player will appear and your device will now appear as a hard drive(s) (if you have a memory card) on your system.
  • Windows Media Player and other application will now recognize your device.

SOURCE: my insignia won't turn on

I had a similar problem. Try holding the power button, or slider, for 20 seconds. Then turn it on. If this does not work, try connecting it to your PC.

I need to know what video format will work

It is one of those "special" MPEG-4 formats. The CD contains ArcSoft MediaConverter 2 for video conversion for several Insignia players. I can upload it somewhere for you to download, but I think it is commercial software and that technically would be piracy. Please do advise if you need it.

Won't let me add music

For the Insignia NS-DA1G, NS-DA2G, KIX, NS-DV2G, NS-DV4G:

These units come set to a FAT formatting. If you have changed this to NTFS or DOS, you will cause problems with your player. Be sure it is formatted correctly.

If you have formatted your player to FAT (recommended), FAT-16, or FAT-32, try using the software reset in the MENU - Settings area of the players internal software.
