Question about BenQ Office Equipment & Supplies
I bought it in fall 06. Used it for 635 hrs. Projector shut down flashing lights for new bulb. OK took me 8 months to get a new bulb so of course warranty expires. New bulb only last 23 hrs. Now it turns on for a few minutes and shuts off with flashing red. According to book means bad bulb. Bulb is over $400.00 and is new not recon.
Can I bypass this shutdown?
I have tried the reset for bulb timer and reset for everything else. No success.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: flasing red light
power light green the lamp light flashes green for awhile then goes red. Replaced the bulb same problem.
I unplugged it then held the power button on and plugged the power cord back in. it started working correctly, and shuts off and on ok now.

SOURCE: LCD shutting off automatically
Had the same problem with PB2140, during startup the lamp went off and power and lamp leds turned on. This happened after the projector fell down. I read a post there hat mentioned it was probably the power supply so i disassembled the projector. I found out that a small transistor of the power supply was torn away but it was still inside the projector. I found it, put it back and the projector works just fine. Thanks!

After 2 years I finnaly solved the problem. There was a flaw in the lamp´s temperature circuit. A technician disassambled my BENQ PB8253 unit and fixed the problem. Charged me US$ 75.00. I´m in Brazil.
Hope this can help.

firdt off, did you reset the lamp counter? did you clean the dust out of the projector? it may be overheating as well. if the lamp looks ok, you may have just blown the ballast. try projector doctor online.
