Docking System wont turn on

My brother and I each own the following docking systems, me-the audiovox, and him-the iLuv. Both are relatively nice systems with radio, cd, and docking capabilities. However, while they both worked at our previous locations, neither work after our move. I think it is uncanny that this situation has happened with both, and was wondering if we are simply missing something here. Before, when plugged in both would show the time on the clock, and then as you pressed power the lcd screens would go blue in the background. Now no matter how many outlets we try, nothing happens. I figured i may have padded mine insufficiently in the move, but his was put back into its original shipping box, styrofoam and all. Is there simply just an expiration date on these systems? Any quick fixes you guys can reccommend? Any answer is appreciated...thanks!
