Question about Goldstar Microwave Ovens
Have a goldstar Microwave oven Model No.MV-1310B,Serial Nol 010 KM 00688,Made Oct. 2000,DHHS Code No. GC,FCC ID No. BEJV130 MC:Unit stopped heating!Clock,timer,dates,all front dials seem to still kick in ok,but the unit does not heat! Microwave ovens have a special Magntron fuse that is inside the body of the microwave its much bigger than a normal fuse, if its blown the microwave wont work.

Does the turntable rotate? If everything but this works (except no heat), you probably have a bad door switch. Here's a discussion of what's involved in replacing it: http://www.fixya.com/support/t267796-kenmore_microwave_hood_combination_over
If the turntable does rotate, I'd suspect a more significant failure, such as the transformer, capacitor, or magnetron. If it's any of these, it's time to replace the unit.

Since it sounds louder than before, it is probably a bad high voltage diode or magnetron.
If it's within the magnetron portion of the warranty (usually 5-9 years) but out of the original full warranty (usually 1 year), then your manufacturer will cover the part cost, but not the cost to visit you or the labor charge to do the work.

Sears may send you a magnetron to install yourself since it's under warranty. For that or warranty service, contact Sears at http://www.sears.com.
You can save about $75 by taking it to the shop yourself, as opposed to an in-home service call.

The light inside the micro wave needs to be replaced most have a door on the back side that yo can remove the screw and unscrew the bulb and take to a applince shop and purchance a new one to replace.
