There is very little if any tactile feedback from most flat panels. Most also have more than six screws unless this is a very small <19 inch set. Look very carefully for a missed screw. In my experience the backs come off easily. Some sets require the mounting screw receivers be removed. They are usually removed with a flathead screwdriver.

For Larrchev: trying to remove the back cover of the TV. I've removed the 4 screws outside but the cover still won't come off. Am I still missing a hidden screw inside?

How do you remove the back of a Samsung ln46b650? Do I just remove all the screws? After removing the back, which board is which?

Yes, remove all of the perimeter screws, and there are some hard to notice screws by the video ports. Take your time when removing the back, if it doesn't want to come off, you are missing a screw.

How do i get the back panel off a vizio vx42l tv?

Lay the tv on a bed face down to keep from hurting the screen. remove screws from base, remove base. Remove about 20 screws all around the back and beneath where cables plug in. Keep screws in neat stacks as some are different (you want to put correct screws back in right place). The back lifts off (it kinda takes some jingling to pop lose) after all screws removed.

Cant remove the back so that I can replace the 256mb memory. I've removed all the screws but there still seems to be a connection somewhere. Do you have any ideas of what I may be missing please?

The first time the back is removed it comes apart very hard. It kind of clips together. If your sure you have all the screws out you will need to pry it loose. Try getting it started and with a piece of plastic work it around.

The screws broke off when trying to remove the tv stand from my LG 42lg30. Is there any other way to remove the base stand? thanks

If you broke one of the base stand screw you will need to do as follow:

Remove the remaining screws of the stand and try to remove the stand, if you cant you will need to remove the back cover of the TV and then you will be able to remove the stand, remove the broken screw and put it all back.

It is pretty easy but if you feel you cant do it let me know and I can give you a detailed step by step guide.

I need help with disassembly of Vizio GV42L LCD TV

remove all the screws and start at the bottom and push in the tabs, and work around the edges, being careful not to pry too hard, the cover has clips all around the tv. after the bottom is free and one of the corners the cover will kind of pop off if you use the palm of your hand and lightly tap as you apply sum upward pressure.

Remove back panel

You have to remove the base at the bottom (4 screws), all the screws on the back, then use a thin flat-head screwdriver or other thin brybar and work around the back panel unlatching the snaps that are in place.

After the back cover is off, the metal cover over the board and power supply can be removed by removing the screws around the outside lip of the cover, along with the screws on the bottom and right hand lip of the raised area in the back.

Hope this helps.
