SOURCE: dead - no response
Hi, I am looking for a battery related problem solution on my own Axim X51v, but it is different than yours. One thing I wanted to share with you is that I know if the battery cover lock button is not in the locked position (slid to the right) it activates the "battery door switch". I have occasionally received error messages on the Axim when I turn the screen on and it has missed sounding an alarm. it will say "the battery door switch was open, so the system was put into "sleep mode" to preserve data from being lost" or something like that. So I believe that the position of the latch is crucial. In my case, I think the switch gets dirty. When I get the warning, I slide the switch back and forth a few times and then it stops bugging me for sometimes several months.
So, if you do not have the cover on, then your latch is probably open, and the door switch will be sensed as open. I am not sure what Sleep Mode really does, but I'll bet it will make the Axim appear dead. At the very least, try sliding that latch back to the right. However, I would replace the door, because only friction actually holds the battery in place unless the door is on. It could fall out when you least expect it. Then I think you would lose any unsaved data, and if your internal backup battery was not up to the task, you could lose everything. I hope this info helps you out.
I'll go post my own problem now.

SOURCE: HTC touch will not turn on
after trying everything logical I decided to think outside the box and chucked my htc touch in the freezer for two hours. Took it out, gave it an hour to dry out and plugged it into the charger and switched it on -- and it turned on. Only sharing what worked for me...

This might not work for everyone but it did for me.
Right click the desktop link and choose Properties. Then click the tab that says Compatability. Change the Compatability Mode to Windows XP then click Apply and OK.
Open the programme first before you connect your phone, make sure your bluetooth is turned off on your Viewty before connecting it. Then plug the phone in and it should work.

I had trouble initially with the same error message as deedee 222 8 and cannot give exact instructions. Try intalling old version, uninstall and then install upgrade 390 from Philips web site. I had to restart 3 times to get rid of an error messge on boot up but then it worked!

Yes, yes, yes! Plug in the ornament to the computer after taking the disk out. Works like a charm, very easy to transfer photos onto ornament from picture files on your computer.
