Foulty capacitor ( In my case I corrected the problem by replacing tow capacitors. The model is 27PT6442/37 which by the way is chassis L04.1U used in many models including 5441 and 6441. The caps were #s 2463 100u, 50v electrolytic and 2465 10u, 100v electrolytic. I replaced both as I was not sure which one was at fault. They cost 25 cents each. They are located next to the high voltage transformer along the edge of the main board. If you need diagram send me a note. Thanks to others for suggesting where to look. kerrye) i have a philips tv M# 27PT6441/37 and im haveing this same problem and would like a diagram so i can see the correct location of the caps, or if you have a good photo's that would help to. please send to thank you!

SOURCE: Philips 27PT6441 27" TV Problem

Pls note that my experience is with the phillips 27" model27PT6341/07. It may not be the same board as yr model, as I can't remember nor find the service manual anymore. (browse around online for it though)

However, after taking the back off. Look close to the rca jack and svideo connection. Mine is located about an inch from the svideo connection.

Here are some pics that may help you.

The new one is the black and gold one marked 10uf 100v in the pic.
Other users have advised to go as high as 10uf 250v, to avoid having the cap overload again.

PS. I had the lines for about 2 weeks. They got steadily worse then one day my tv looked like it was broadcasting an hourglass. The lines converged in the center and flared outward (no pic).

Constant blinking green light on Mitsubishi WS-65909 TV. Replaced the 7 Capacitors on the DM module and re-installed into the tv, plugged in and the same blinking green light problem is happening. Is

This is a V19 chassis, circa 2002

If all capacitors were replaced correctly & all caps with bulging tops were replaced, It sounds like you may have other issues on the DM pcb. Possibly defective ICs. That would be the E2P module (a small pcb which plugs directly onto the DM pcb), which is specific to your particular model & serial#

Several years ago the only way to get the E2P, was thru the manufacturer, they also, used to make a kit that you could replace those ICs yourself. Those pcbs & kits were limited. So all I can do is wish you much luck if that is the problem.

At this point I would double & triple check the replacement of your capacitors.

Microwave Oven will not heat.

When your microwave oven has power, the fan runs, carousel turns, light comes on but the unit does not heat up you have a bad high voltage diode, bad filter capacitor or a bad magnatron in that order. The diode and capacitor do not cost very much. You can get them at or . Replacement would mean removing the unit from under the counter (if not a tabletop unit) and removing the case. Locate the diode and capacitor. They should be near the power section behind the transformer and display. The diode is attached to the chassis on one side with a screw and on the other end with a spade lug to one side of the filter capacitor. The diode is brown and has an arrow on the side. The filter capacitor is a large oval silver can with two spade lug connections on one end. After replacing both parts if the unit will not heat you would need a new magnatron. The part is fairly expensive, but depending on the cost of your unit, it may pay to replace it. You should be able to get the magnatron at . The magnatron replacement is not difficult. About four screws and several wires on spade lugs. Just be concientious or mark everything for correct reassembly. Also make sure the part is correctly installed and all seals are in place. You do not want microwave energy to leak out.

I removed my run capacitor from my Jenn Air Refrigerator Side by Side Model Number JCD2295KEP and when it was reinstalled a small piece of plastic broke off the Capacitor when I clipped it back to place. ...

If the case is not cracked it should be fine. There is a chemical in the capacitor that could leak out if the case and cause it not to work correctly.

Magic chef microwave oven model mco160uq has power and plate spins but no heat generated. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

There are three causes that come to mind, magnetron, high voltage capacitor, and high voltage diode. The diode runs off one lead to the capacitor and the other to chassis ground, sometimes cracks or shorts, the capacitor "silver and rectangular" usually shorts, the magnetron will open in most cases. Unplug microwave, short out capacitor with a screwdriver to remove residual voltage, test with a digital meter, set to ohms and unhook one side of part before test in each case.

We have a Phillips 42" LCD and it turns itself off? it happened last year then stopped for about 11 months, the problem has now come back with avengence.

You are not the only one I can tell you that. I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Good Day,
You have problem with caps on the Hyper Board. This is how to repair it:

MVPU13 Hyper Module Repair (23786198 / 23148017X)
Corrective Action: Remove the MVUP13 Hyper Module from the TV chassis, remove
the top shield and replace all of the 10uf, 16v capacitors using Part Number 24619040 It’s recommended that all of the capacitors identified be replaced. (Note: These capacitors are low impedance surface mounted aluminum electrolytic capacitors. Care).

GOOD luck, big IRISH.
should be taken to avoid damaging the PCB while replacing these capacitors.

44 error means short detected. My experience with this chassis has bee Bad capacitors Jamiccon 1000uf and above. possibly the two 100ufs cap on the PWB have shorted. this chassis is no bad to worl on however without the service manual you will have a hard time even getting the chassis out to gain access to the boards to service. I recommend going to this link for 15.99 they will email you the factory service manual instantly and give some free tech support in case you need any tech support. Thats a nice TV and a repair shop will want to change boards and thats exspensive compared to a few dollars for new capacitors. But 90% of that chassis's problems can be traced to bad jamicon capacitors. Heres the link if you want the service manual

Horiz. lines across top of screen.

I agree with solution #2

I recently had my phillips 27" model 27PT6341/07 repaired after warranty expired due to white lines appearing at the top of the screen. The shop advised that it was a capacitor giving me the problem. So, after getting it back, I examined the repair job and the shop had replaced a capacitor at the back of the main board, next to the rear rca inputs. It is labeled 10uf 100v. I was told that it would fail again soon because it is a manufactures defect. For me it is at location 2465. Here are a couple of photos of the part.

Good luck,
