Question about Mitsubishi VS-4544 45" TV
When pushing the power button the tv clicks once on the clicks again off. If I leave it unplugged for a few mins it will occasionally come on for about 10 mins then shutdown and will not do anthing but click on - then click off. It has worked perfectly for years. I only use the set a couple of hours a month. I am pretty handy with electronics. Can you tell me what it could be or how to find out?
The TV is a VS-4543 but it is not a choice even thought there are lots of post for this set

I usually find that symptom you describe is caused by cracked solder joints on the power regulators or vertical output IC. I have also seen that symptom caused by loose solder joints on the vertical windings up inside one of the yokes. If you have experience in repairing TV's then you can disassemble the set and pull the main chassis, flip it over and resolder all of the parts mounted on heat sinks. If you do not have experience in repairing projection TV's then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
