2002 Ford Galaxy - Dashboard lights won't come on

The dashboard lights on our Ford Galaxy (2002) have gone off completely. Windscreen wipers come on and won't go off unless I switch off engine. There appears to be a fuse problem but not sure how to what to do. The rear wiper came on today and wouldn't go off. Can you help??

I am quite handy with cars so if you can tell me which fuse to replace, I will have a go?? If thats the problem of course??

Cheers mate!!

Chris :)

SOURCE: Dashboard lights

You need to remove th whole inst. cluster to replace the bulbs that are located on the BACK side in bulb carriers. Usually turning a 1/4 turn to the left reomves the carries in order to replace the bulbs. Some manufactuers, you have to replace the bulb carrier/socket and bulb as a unit , others just pull the bulb and replace with the SAME type bulb as removed. Most instrument carriers will have on the back what the particular bulb in a specific position is used for by a symbal and the wattage for the also ie: 2.5, which is 2.5 watts. In remove ing the cluster be very careful removeing the connectors from the back. There are certain ways each has to be released to come off but usally can only go in a certain location in the cluster, just make a mental note to yourself has you disconnect them and you will be fine. SOURCE: tail and dashboard fuse keeps blowning

unhook black wire from harness and the ground from pioneer unit install the ground wire from pioneer unit to frame of car (you may need extra wire to do this) make sure the black wire from pioneer unit is bolted to frame of car not to the harness black wire........fuses will no longer blow and you will have your lights.
hope this helped

SOURCE: bought a 06 Hyundai Tucson, didnt have owners

well that has nothing to do with the stereo but ill help all i can. That is the enigne light on that car i do belive maybe O2 sensor went bad or EGR valve PCV valve ect its more than likely emissions system related IF THAT IS THE ENGINE LIGHT ON THAT CAR. if its not your enging light either way the best place to have diagnostics ran on your car is the dealership. should cost 105 dollars per system. like the electrical cooling emissions driveability ect.

Radio for my 2000 Ford Taurus won't work and I

Did you check all of your fuses. Your radio requires two power sources to work. One is constant to control the memory and the other is switched so the radio turns off with the key.

Where is the fog light button on the dashboard

I assume you are talking about the fog lights on your car. More then likely it is part of the head light switch. In my Ford product I have to turn the headlight switch fully clockwise then pull it out about 1/4 inch.
I hope this answers your question.
Good Luck,

How to bypass some of the features

Don't let them rip you off for $100 - all they're doing is changing the spot that they connect one harness wire into the car:)

DVD head units have one extra wire in their wiring harnesses, compared to a standard CD head unit. On mine, it's a peach-colored wire, and is the activation wire for the DVD feature. During the installation, the instructions call for this wire to be tapped into the emergency brake indicator light wire. The reason is this:

The e-brake indicator light is what is called a "ground complete" circuit. That means that the bulb always has power applied, but when you pull the brake, that puts a ground to the wire and completes the circuit, allowing it to illuminate. The head unit sees this ground, and activates the DVD player.

In my Jensen unit, I simply ran this wire to a ground (I used a screw near the fuse box), and I put a switch on the wire, so I could break the ground contact at will. Jensen calls for a procedure to activate DVD playback. In their instructions, they tell you to select DVD from the option menu, and when the "lawyer screen" comes up (the one warning you to park before you watch a movie), you release the e-brake for 3-5 seconds, and then reapply it. To simulate that with the switch I used, I leave the switch closed (activated), and select DVD. Then I flip the switch "off" for 3-5 seconds, and flip it back "on". This tricks the head unit into thinking I put the e-brake off for a few seconds and then put it back on, and the movie will start. Then I can drive away.

Basically, ground the wire that is used for DVD activation, and put a switch inline on it. Then you can break and reapply the ground in whatever manner is required by the manufacturer of your head unit. If there is no off/on sequence with yours, as there is with mine, simply ground the wire to a screw inside the dashboard and you're done.
