2002 Ford Galaxy - Dashboard lights won't come on

The dashboard lights on our Ford Galaxy (2002) have gone off completely. Windscreen wipers come on and won't go off unless I switch off engine. There appears to be a fuse problem but not sure how to what to do. The rear wiper came on today and wouldn't go off. Can you help??

I am quite handy with cars so if you can tell me which fuse to replace, I will have a go?? If thats the problem of course??

Cheers mate!!

Chris :)

You need to remove th whole inst. cluster to replace the bulbs that are located on the BACK side in bulb carriers. Usually turning a 1/4 turn to the left reomves the carries in order to replace the bulbs. Some manufactuers, you have to replace the bulb carrier/socket and bulb as a unit , others just pull the bulb and replace with the SAME type bulb as removed. Most instrument carriers will have on the back what the particular bulb in a specific position is used for by a symbal and the wattage for the also ie: 2.5, which is 2.5 watts. In remove ing the cluster be very careful removeing the connectors from the back. There are certain ways each has to be released to come off but usally can only go in a certain location in the cluster, just make a mental note to yourself has you disconnect them and you will be fine. The mounting bracket does not adhere to the slightly pebbled vinyl surface of my dashboard. Does the clear plastic cover, with the tab, come off or stay on? Also, there is a round black disk that...

The mounting bracket is meant for mounting on the windscreen. It won't stick to the pebbled vinyl surface of the dashboard as the surface allows air in. You take off the thin clear plastic cover. The black disk that came with the satnav can be stuck to your dashboard if you want to mount the satnav there. Clean the dashboard and peel off the plastic cover off the disk to stick it to the dashboard. Be sure not to put it where there's an airbag. You can then attach the satnav to the other side of the disk the same as to the windscreen.

To attach the satnav to the windscreen press the suction mount against the screen and press the lever towards the screen. To remove it pull back the lever and lift the tab on the suction pad.

Hi, my car, a toyota caldina, has three buttons on the dashboard that i don't understand. One button has a sign of a windscreen with a wiper and current going through it with an ON light indicator. Another...

on a 1997-2002 caldina G, GT, GTT..

One is the rear demister (front demister is in the center console with the heater). But it could also be the windscreen cleaner pump, if you mean on the stalk. (up, front window, down, reap window).

One is the fog lamps if fitted

The last is an inverter buit into the car so you can run 100Volt domestic devices (like laptops/shavers and stuff). I think the japanese have 100 volt domestic power. You'll find the *** power socket on the back of the centre console under a little hatch, easiest to see from the back seat. Mostly you want it turned off.

yes its the comms unit, its behind the steering wheel, your car must be a 99 onwards to have this prob, if it is a estate the wires rub on body work, rear doors only, it blows your comms unit, its expensive as needs programming.

Dashboard lights and back lights have gone out!!

This, without a doubt, is the main light switch. It comes complete with the wiper switch. Beware of using second hand ones.

The multi-function switch is a known problem. Hard to say if it will fix all of the problems. Check the fuses too.
