Canon MP780 didn't report out of ink and now will not pring blanck

I was printing a document and all of a sudden blank pages were coming out. Check the black cartridges and they were both empty but I had received no message that they werw low or empty. Put in two new cartidges and still will not print black. Tried another of the large black cartridges and still no black printing. Tried to print a test page from window and the colors show up in the windows logo but nothing else. Any ideas on how to fix.

The black ink (B3e) will not print. I suspect it is due to lack of use combined with using substitute ink tanks. I am not sure ow to fix this but would like to know if others find the same. Did you use a non canon ink replacement?

I recently had the same exact problem. It seems, as with most electronic machines, its electronic circuitry needs to be reset every once in a while. So I unplugged the machine while still on, waited about 2 minutes or so and then replugged it. It started printing normally. I did take out all cartridges first, but I'm not sure that step is necessary. Give it a shot. It worked for me.

When the machine doesn't register the ink levels it is caused by a faulty PCB. Just keep using the machine, the fault is not worth repairing. With this machine you must use genuine ink or you can have lots of problems and throw the machine away.

Have you tried cleaning or aligning the heads? Were the first cartridges refills? when an ink cartridge is refilled (depending on the model) the printer needs to be tricked into thinking a "new" cartidge is being installed. You may need to check the owners manual to see if the is the case. I have had to use tape to block off certain contacts, then remove the cartidge and block off another section of contacts, then remove tape all together and re-insert the cartridge.

My printer print without no writting , paper just come out blank and it's new ank model hp d500

Hi, If you didn't used your inkjet printer for a long time the most common problem is that the nozzles of the print head are clogged with ink, so no ink can go down to the paper and that's why you see a blank sheet of paper. What you can do is Deep Head Cleaning from the printer properties menu a couple of times. If this does not help you will need to replace the print head

Unable to print document

Please tell me you are using factory new Canon cartridges.

Third party or even worse, refilled cartridges are the preemminent cause of ink failures.

Select print and paper is blank - all cartridges have ink

dear friend

the thing that you have changes is ink tank, not the whole unit

this problem is with all the machines which have separate ink tank and head assembly

generally head gets blocked and users keep on changing the ink tanks

friend you have to change head also to get your machine working

thanks

Blank printing

Look carefully at the new cartridge. Some of them have a clear film that has to be peeled off before it can be used.

Big Black not printing

Sounds to me your print head is plugged up. This is not usual though because the majority of people use black ink much more. So, in your printer utility, do a deep cleaning. If that does not work, there is a thing called a purge unit in it. This is a usual way of draining waste ink to a pad that soaks it up. if the hose, or other parts are clogged, it backs the ink up and causes the print head to clog. If this is the start of it, do not waste your ink cleaning, and try not to let it sit too long. Contact canon, and let them kno what you think it is.
