Re: user name and password
Username: "admin" and Password:"password", unless you changed it. If you did, just reset the modem to the factory settings by keeping the reset button pressed, and admin and password should work again.

In order to get the wifi WEP key for your network, turn over the bottom of the modem- the default WEP key is on a sticker- Bar that, on your pc open up a web browser, type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar- by default the user name and password are admin and password- go to the wireless tab, and basic security settings- the WEP key would be listed there
Reset the actiontec by holding the reset button (on the back) down until the power button glows orange. Let it go before the button turns green. Then open browser to 192.168.1.1 go to quick setup and enter user ID: admin - and password: password. This gets you into the modem configuration page. Next go to the advanced setup and enter WAN address settings. Make sure PPPoE is marked. The user name is email@example.com -and the password is attreg. Select Dynamic IP-DHCP and Dynamic DNS addresses. Aat the bottom of the page click apply.Go to the home page(listed on left menu) and connect to internet. You should be redirected to ATT page for registration. Good luck!!!
Are you on Consumer Verizon DSL? Fair warning if you are using Business Static- the Actiontec is a poor choice due to issues working on a static IP circuit. - I'd use a 6110 and a third party router! However, by default, the only thing you would need to do to setup the modem is go through the activation page when you plug the modem in. If you require an user name and password, it would set that up. Bar any problems, you can contact Verizon technical support since the Actiontec Gateway is fully supported.
Are you looking for the wireless network key or password ? Is there any computer online using the router. If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router. If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer. router set up page is the page where you can check all the router settings. You will find the wireless network key or password on the set up page of the router.
You need to input your AT&T user name and password in the router's setup page and set the modem to PPoPE. Here is the user manual: DSL setup is on page 26 http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/ACTIONTEC/GT704-WG-_E Click on this link or copy and paste the complete link into your browser. If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it. Thanks, Joe
If my memory serves me, I didn't install the software for my Actiontec modem/router combo. I call Verizon and told them I refused to install the software and they helped step me through getting rid of this garbage. You should never have to install software to get a modem or router to work as any software the comes with it, is simply used to provide easier configuration.
Since I couldn't find anything about bypassing this software, I would suggest contacting Verizon directly. Their technical support should be able to assist you.
Well if it is the user name and password to change the router's setings it would be admin for user name and password would be password. If that is not what you are looking for then try this if it is the WEP password it should be on the bottom of the router.
