Hi and welcome to FixYa,

For a Brother HL-7050, it is required that a fuse need to be replaced each time the the TN700 toner cartridge is replaced. This is so that laser printing system will reset the toner cartridge page counter.

The technically correct procedure would be to follow the steps as outline in the repair manual. Therefore, it would be to your advantage access to a service manual. Should you be uncomfortable performing a DIY (do-it-yourself), perhaps your best bet would then be to seek the services of a qualified professional.

Just a start, do postback how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

1. Make sure you have opened the seal
2. Make sure the new toner you are connecting is properly connected, Until the toner is detected the red light will not go off.

Thanks.

Toner Cartridge Fuse for Use in Brother® HL-7050

Static Control now offers a fuse for the Brother® TN-700 toner cartridge, used in the Brother HL-7050 printer. A “killer" fuse that blows when the toner cartridge is inserted in the printer, the fuse must be replaced when “Toner Life End" is reached. SCC’s fuse allows the toner cartridge to function properly and clears the “Toner Life End" message so that the printer can resume printing.

You need to have the printer turned off before inserting the new toner cartridge. If you have done this, unplug the printer, wait a few minutes and plug it back in. Then turn the printer on again. This should resolve the issue.

ok.unplug the printer from main power outlet.remove the cartridge.then after sometime on the printer.then install the cartridge again.if it still shows the red lite.then
1)either the paper is jammed in it somewhere ,may be a small piece it could be.
    or the
2)printer door not being closed properly.
    or
3)the sensor which detects the toner in the printer is moved from its orignal position, just tap on all the sides of the printer even on --top and bottom so if its moved it gets adjusted automatically due to tapping.
    thanks.

Product is Brother HL-4150CDN laser printer. The LCD display is saying Replace Toner (Back) I have 2 black toner carts available. One that I slightly used previously before swapping it out with a new one...

Had this same problem on the same printer. Here is the solution.
Open the front cover of the printer and press "Cancel" & "Secure". This will access a secret menu that will let you reset the toner counter. There are 12 settings in all (3 per color).
Two thumbs up going out to TonerHacker007 on the fixyourownprinter.com forums for this one.

How do I access and change out the toner cartridge? (brother HL-2140 printer)

1 Turn your Brother HL-2140 laser printer on.
2 Open the front cover by pulling the top latch toward you.
3 Pull the printer drum unit toward you. Put it on the clean, blank sheet of paper.
4 Push the green lever on the drum assembly down.
5 Remove the empty toner cartridge from the drum unit.
6 Shake your replacement toner cartridge gently to evenly distribute the toner inside.
7 Put the new toner into the drum unit and slide the unit back into your Brother HL-2140 printer. Close the top cover.

Brother HL-4070 printing out black whole page. Is this drum problem?

Try swapping the black and the magenta (red) cartridge.
This will not damage the printer and you can see if the toner or the drum is defective.

If you get a red page, drum
Black page, toner cartridge

The red lite indicates one of the following needs to be looked at:

Cover open (Jam clear cover) Close the jam clear cover of the fuser unit.

Memory full - Press the go button.

Print overrun - Press the go button.

Clean drum unit - Clean the corona wire.

Toner lite will not go out or print

A couple of suggestions

1) Open door and remove drum and toner. Hold Go button down until all lights are on. Put drum and toner back in and shut door.

Another is.

1. Switch off printer

2. Switch on printer

3. Open front door

4. Remove toner/drum unit

5. With the door still open hold down the go button for 1 second

6. Put the toner/drum unit back in

7. With the door still open hold down the go button for 1 second

8. Close the door and press go to test

Toner End Life

Ther is a small viewport (about 1/4" dia) on each end of the cartridge that a photo sensor apparently shines through. The port is not near the bottom, so there's room for plenty of toner below it. Put a small piece of electrical tape over one of them and it will print fine..
Just a thought it worked for soe of my frnds..its worth a try..
Good luck!
