I can get picture with hdmi connected but no sound. Do i have to connect the optical digital audio cable from PC to TV to get sound? Actually the video and sound go to stereo receiver first, video passes...

If your video card supports audio over hdmi in that case you need to find the s/pdif port on you motherboard and the port on your video card (usually right next to and sli or xfire bridge) then you can send the sound thru the hdmi. if not you will have to connect your optical audio cable or a 3.5mm audio out to rca left and right out to your receiver for audio. what video card and mother board are you using? if you know this i can tell you exactly where the ports are for the spdif cable to video card and mobo.

Hi, my msi motherboard has six audio jacks. one of them is for microphone and other one which is in green colour, is for sound output. but i am very confused what for the other jacks are. there are two...

Please refer the below picture for your motherboard back panelsatheeshd_2.jpg

Digital audio device will connect only through that S/P DIF out and most of them will not use that port for audio device.(more disadvantages to use optical fiber cable for home needs and cost is very high)
You can use other port even in digital audio devices.

Thanks,
satheesh

Does my w3507 have an agp port

No it does not have an agp port. IT has a PCI Express Port for video cards. Its much better and faster.
Details on your machine and what it has can be found at this link. Hope it helps.

SATA / Optical Drive Not Recognized

In my travels through this nightmare called Windows, there have been some real issues. I ran into this same problem with XP with SP3, What I did was set up a virtual machine running Vista Premium and loaded the SATA Optical with the Vista OS which recognized it right off. I was able to use the drive just fine when using the Vista in the virtual machine but was not seen in XP. Have not found a decent work around this....just waiting for Windows 7 to come out so I dump both XP and Vista and start over learning another new curb, but at least I've been told that a huge amount of drivers are to be loaded into the new OS...we'll see.

Dvd rom won't work

You forgot to check the jumper settings of the Hard Disk and the DVD Drive found at the back near the IDE and power cables. If you are using one IDE cable, then one jumper should be a Master, that's the Harddisk, and the DVD drive a Slave. If you are using two IDE cable then both must be Master.

You should check also the Harddisk jumper help settings printed on them, some harddisk needs the jumper settings for Slave presence on the same IDE cable.

If it doesn't work then It's either the cable or the DVD drive has a problem.
